Over time certain applications may also drop support and could stop working without warning.
You can try Linux instead, for example Linux Mint, Manjaro or Fedora Workstation.
Once 10 is EOL you're better off going to a Linux distribution, for starters, Linux Mint.
Not everyone wants that AI nonsense. It's a massive security flaw and consumes power. It also takes away privacy and for what? For you to use your brain less?
Why would I want to use my brain less when doing so is linked to cognitive decline?
Also note that it's when people stop thinking that they become easily controlled. No politics or conspiracy, but reality. Whenever people stop thinking and let someone else or something else do it for them, then they have ultimately lost freedom.
you wont know if youre using a browser, an app, an operating system. all youll know is everything works like before, but you dont need all the extra software and windows and folders and firewalls.
it will be like automobiles. no one understands what theyre looking at when they take an engine cover off anymore.
it will go that direction and im not sure if its good thing. especially for a community that moves as slow as linux. just my opinion though
"AI", a very broad term, could be refering to anything.
Machine learning is done almost exclusively on Linux. Models as a service also run exclusively on Linux.
The "AI" you are refering to is nothing but hype. Corpos with big marketing budgets will shove it down our throats as part of consumer products and services until in a year or two people finally figure out it is actually a very poor solution to many problems it claims to solve.
I'm still on Windows 10, Was on Windows 11 for over a year but just never got use to the stupid little things with the gui, or other issues that wasn't there on windows 10 on my machine. But Im on windows 10 IoT Enterprise, so EOL is 2032 on this one. So probably longer than I'd honestly have the system for, maybe Windows 12 might actuality be good then idk, I feel they will still try to cater to the touch screen crap.
I wouldn't say that. With Linux if you really don't like it, you can change it.
If people don't want to learn the skills to do so or have the skills then how can they complain about an issue?
Imagine you need your yard cut and you have the grass mower and weed wacker nearby. Would you seriously shout for others to use their time and energy for free because you are unsatisfied with your yard?
No one will care unless helping you granted them a benefit of some kind. Same situation in operating system development.
You have to also remember that different people want different things. That's why Android has over 50 different UIs (much more unofficial ones) that accomplish the same exact thing...
Because until i can source a board for the i5 10600k my son gave me i'm stuck with Win10 for a while.
Ohohoho, It has begun!
