DP 1.4a vs HDMi 2.1 which is better?
I have 4090 that supports hdmi 2.1 and monitor with 2.1 aswell. Should i stay with dp 1.4a with dsc on 4k 240hz or use hdmi 2.1 instead?

Use Displayplay port.

Your monitor may not even have a HDMI 2.1 port itself, often just for backwards compatibilty they have an HDMI port which can run the screen at max res 30/60.

it depends on the devices tho

dp 1.3 can do 4k@120hz

save the hdmi port for console or other tv device
