That’s multi-rail, dude, and efficiency above gold really doesn’t matter. A lot of multirail units are switchable between single and multi rail modes.

Agree it's either 7800x3D or 5800x3D if on tighter budget for gaming. Large L3 cache has made a huge difference in all my games.

montech x3 (it has no usb 3.1 gen2 front headers.. my motherboard has those.. so I'd advie picking a better case..

here.. when I look for a case under 77 dollar that has usb gen2 front headers (aka the case I personally would pick)..

Chieftec APEX AIR is only 67 euro including tax here..
but nearly 200 dollar on partpicker.. what crappy page is that??

5800x3d will bottleneck an 4070ti.. 12900k will not.

I pick an 12900k over an 5800x3d anyday...
and when cheaper priced than an 7800x3d.. also over that one..

at it's normal price of 600 euro.. yeah than it's way to expensive to consider vs the 350 euro.. 7800x3D

it all bottles down to what cpu can the cheapest run my choosen gpu without bottleneck.

a 7600x or 5800x3d cannot.

an 12900k can and 7800x3d can..
13900k and 14900k can also and 7950x3D can also..

Yeah I really don’t see the point of spamming the thread with suggestions when he already bought the parts 4 days ago and has probably already started building their machine if they haven’t already

And if the 12900K doesn’t bottleneck a 4070 Ti then the 5800X3D won’t because it’s literally freaking faster than the i9

any current cpu will be the bottleneck on the 4070ti or 7900xt of the res is 640x480 and 10000hz display

where the bottleneck is depends on many components not just the cpu and gpu

RAM matters as well but the game loves cache and IS the quickest way to speed up game time, not more cores.

Watch this video for an explanation. He has good examples of randomly selected arrays. Something HoI 4 does all the time for many different AI calculations.

Part of the point of more cache is that the CPU will spend less time accessing RAM which has actual latency whereas cache is faster and already immediately accessible to the CPU, so where cache actually serves a purpose in games allows the CPU to achieve higher frame rates because it isn’t wasting time waiting on memory.

no the 5800x3d is SLOWER than an i9 12900k

by about 12% overall.
in single, dual and quad core use by 33%
and in 8 core use by 50%

yes.. the 5800x3d does get a higher INDIVIDUAL passmark score.
but it also does bottleneck an 7900xt or 4070ti by about 10-12% which well do you know it.. is the gap in their overal performance...


the fps lost due this bottleneck is NOT made up by passmark score..


which means the 12900k is a very good match for an 7900xt (forget that 4070ti its crappier and more expensive)

fps average at 1440p ultra :
45866 5800x3d
49215 7800x3d
52668 12900k

so... again.. the 12900k is even outperforming the 7800x3d in some games..

which is no wonder since while yes the passmarkscore of the 7800x3d is higher.. the 12900k has the best single core performance of any gpu exept the 13900k and 14900k above it..

it does not JUST have more cores.. it also has faster ones.. for certain tasks..
so unless it is a game that NEEDS that extra cashe OR when it bottlenecks a faster gpu (an 4090 cant run on an 12900k without bottleneck that one only runs on 7800x3d or 7950x3d without bottleneck..

add to that the build I did.. also had wifi7 on it's motherboard, alc1220 (much better audio).. 100mhz faster readtimes on the m.2.. 9.4 true latency not 10... and TWICE as much memory too..

so again.. don't stare to blindly on the 7800x3d.. yes it is the general gaming king.. but thats for a large part due it's ability to run 4090 without bottleneck which even the 14900k struggles with.. and cause it only cost 350 euro.. while all the i9 chips are 600+ euro...

but again when I see an 12900k at 290 euro instead of the 600 euro it should cost... than the story changes..

for THIS build.. that very low priced 12900k made perfect sense..
