You don't need too.

But there is little difference between Win10 and Win11.

Start menu is worse on Win11 but that's about it.

You aren't required to, it's just Microsoft trying to force crap down people's throats as usual.
Quint Jun 21, 2024 @ 10:27pm
You are not required to right now. But I suggest upgrading next year as Windows 10's support will end then. What I mean by "support" is the security updates that you and every end user needs.

You can update to Windows 11 and revert back to Windows 10 if you don't like it. You have 10 days to move back before the upgrade is permanent.

Mine has said I cant upgrade to Windows 11.

Then you don't meet the Win11 requirements. Either use one of the methods to circumvent the requirements (Fresh install only) or upgrade your system.

You can check why you fail the compatibility

No you don't have to upgrade if you don't want to.
Can't blame for not wanting to, Windows 11 is garbage and the next Windows OS is shaping up to be even worse.

You dont CURRENTLY have to, but Win10 support doesnt have much time left so you can just upgrade and get it over with if you want.

I would however use the program SPECCY to copy your Win10 key so you may re enter it if you wish after the time limit to revert has passed, should also do that after you install Win11 as well also for a just in case to copy your Win11 key after the upgrade, will likely be a different key.

To Letsrock, your CPU/Motherboard are likely a couple generations before Motherboards came with the TPM motherboard requirement for Win11, so any CPU/Motherboard that does not have TPM is not suitable for Win11 in Microsofts eyes, regardless of how good your CPU/Motherboard may be.

Windows 10 has year left in Support then you move to Windows 11 or stick with outdated OS that won't be supported. Aside from the Start Menu its the same.

Windows 10 for normal users is still supported until Oct 2025. so you got plenty of time to decide if you want to upgrade or not.

I can say with 99.999% confidence your PC won't meet the requirements of that feature you are so paranoid about. When the early preview got hacked Microsoft went so paranoid you need a PC with biometrics built-in to the system to be eligible for Recall as it now requires Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-on Security.

Why are you just assuming that they're paranoid when all they said was that Windows 11 is garbage? It's bad for more than just security and privacy reasons. Windows has been on a downward spiral for years, it's not paranoia to believe that.

People hate it because of the unnecessary changes, it's full of bloat just like 10, there are generally more bugs due to it being newer, and then on top they keep adding features that people never asked for to begin with. Recall got removed from Insider builds so nobody can use it at all right now, they're probably completely reworking it or scrapping the idea altogether because it's controversial.

Windows 10 already spies a lot, the telemetry basically tracks everything you do. I'm sure Windows 11 is worse in that regard, and Windows 12 will be even worse. Recall is the feature making headline but this really isn't a new thing at all with Microsoft.

But by "shaping up to be worse" I more-so mean that they will probably shift towards a subscription model like many other scummy software companies have done. Then you'll have to pay a fee and agree to abusive anti-consumer EULAs and TOS semi-annually (or whenever they want to change them) or else your entire system is perma-locked.

Had the same thing, no matter what I did there was something about the damn safe boot that I couldn't change even after reloading win. 10 and changing and reformatting my hard drive to UEFI in bios. I upgraded my 5 or 6 year old motherboard to a win 11 platform, reloaded win 10 and had the upgrade message. The motherboard needed to be changed anyways.

Thats exactly why, a Motherboard has to support TPM and that started around the Intel 8th generation i believe, so anything before 8th Gen is not compatible, after which a compatible motherboard may need to have its BIOS updated depending on its age.
