PC starts to lag like a slideshow after alt-tabbing too much from a game (Valorant)
This happen when I play valorant not sure for any other games but I alt tab to Chrome to my Valorant game but when I do it like for the 5th-6th time my whole PC starts to lag like a slideshow and for Valorant as well. I tried doing the shortcut reset my GPU but nothing happens I just reboots my PC and it fixes itself. I did do a DDU a couple weeks back and upgrade to a Ryzen 5800X3D but I believe it started happening before the upgrade too. Any recommendations to look at so I can get rid of this issue?

Close out Chrome?
Maybe get more RAM?
Disable Full Screen Optimization for game exe.

Set the game to Borderless Window instead of Full Screen as well; within the game settings.

its also in borderless window but i did disable fullscreen optimization and havent encountered the problem yet
Yes the "disable full screen optimization" is simply needed to be applied to certain games. The name or term seems misleading because it can address certain game issues, regardless of whether the game runs in any kind of Windowed Mode or Full Screen Mode.

Borderless Window Mode is often better, as it allows seemless/delay-less transitions to OS Apps/Windows when using ALT+TAB or WINKEY+TAB

Some games, when ran in any kind of Full Screen mode, can't remain as an active window when you ALT+TAB out of it. With some games, this method of switching can sometimes cause the game to crash.

The only issue with this is your G-Sync will stop working unless you allow it in windows mode which has its own set of problems.

Good news is that It actually won't! In the last versions of win10/11, the flip model presentation is enforced for all DirectX 10+ games. This ensures that G-SYNC functions flawlessly in almost all games, whether in borderless or fullscreen modes, when the "fullscreen only" mode is chosen in nvidia gsync settings
I've been using multiple Displays that have FreeSync Premium + Adaptive Sync and function properly via NVIDIA GSync for both windowed and full-screen apps/games and not really had any problems worth mentioning. Some annoyances here and there, but that sometimes happens from time to time with WinOS and/or the GPU Drivers.

Full Screen is great, as long as you have no needs to ALT+TAB out frequently.

Again, the ALT+TAB in/out frequently can easily cause some games to just up and crash at random, especially if they use DX12.

This should just be common sense when using a WinOS PC for Gaming; that "most" defaults in the NVIDIA Control Panel, you are going to want to change.

The settings I often need to change in the Nvidia control panel are refresh rate, colour range, fps cap, and shader cache size. Leave the rest on defaults and had no issues.
