I gave a few Linux distros a try, I don't like Linux really for many different reasons.
I prefer windows, grew up on it on DOS days and Win 3.1. And them days are long gone, and I feel like typing things in the terminal makes it feel like the 90s again.
Wont say Windows is great, its not, Win 11 is well not great at all, but I know so much about the inner workings of windows, its hard for me to move onto something else as I will always need windows for something anyway.
Majority of people aren't gonna bother with installing a linux distro on their PC, only IT minded and tech savy people do that.
WIndows at this point is simply too large to fail, too many business , governments, all depend on their OS and the (legacy) software that runs on it.
I like steamOS, and i'm glad linux users can finally play some games now but let's not claim it's exactly a smooth experience either sometimes (proton versions, winetricks/protontricks config/ troubleshooting hell/ needing third party appications to install non steam games/..)
i want to use my pc as a muisc-composer-tool/thing. i use reason 12 daw (digital audio workstation) and dont buy games anymore....and for daily stuff.
