i have gtx 650 too, i'm using 550w psu but i think you will be fine with 300w
_I_ 1 czerwca 2024 o 14:45
also depends on the rest of the build
but 450w should be more than enough if is an older cpu too

GTX 650 only needs 65 Watts

So as long as PSU is enough for your CPU and Motherboard; even 200W PSU would work

probably 2 potatos batteries will be enough to power it, maybe 3 if you're over clocking it.

so its an acer pc, ive come to learn that acer doesnt like being compatible @_@ thanks for the help anyways
_I_ 10 czerwca 2024 o 14:06
it should be compatible, unless the psu does not have the pci-e 6/6+2 power cable, or its a thin/slim case for low profile gpus
Bad 💀 Motha 10 czerwca 2024 o 16:12
It's less then 75W then it shouldn't need any extra power from cables

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units?useskin=vector#GeForce_600_series

The power usage of all Nvidia video cards is published right here on wikipedia. It's in the second to last column on the far right side. If a video card doesn't have a wattage figure listed then it wasn't published to the public by Nvidia.

the wiki shows 2 variants
gk 107, and gk 106
the 107 is 64w

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/geforce-gtx-650/specifications/
Thermal and Power Specs:
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) = 64 W
Supplementary Power Connectors = One 6-pin
nvidia probably made the venders add the pci-e power connector to be safe, if you oc or the card spikes above the 75w pci-e slot limit

i think the wiki is wrong, anyone can edit them
the gk106 is on the 650ti, 110w

That information is correct. There are two versions of the GTX 650.

All information on the page I linked is from is a compiled list based on Nvidia's own specifications that they published to the public. It's just much easier to read all in one place. Also "major pages" like this one from Nvidia can not "just be edited by any person". The major pages are curated and maintained. Random people can not submit random changes to the Nvidia video cards wikipedia page. Changes to that page are submitted, discussed, voted on, and official sources must be cited and referenced. Only then are changes made to that page.

This website is not official per Nvidia, is not curated, is not based on any actual published specifications, and is actually completely random. Hwcompare can NOT be relied on for any factual information for any product.

it is not from the nvidia, but it does compare the gpus specs, not relative gaming performance
its info is accurate
Lixire 11 czerwca 2024 o 9:21
GTX 650 (non Ti) does consume like 60-75W at most. so you can get away with a 300W PSU.
the wattage on the "required power supply" part on the NVIDIA website usually accounts for the worst case possible like full load with terribly inefficient CPU.

Unfortunately it is not. There is no way for any of us to know where hwcompare gets their information from. It could be wikipedia, google, or just something some random person that maintains that website decided to type into it.

The information posted on the hwcomapre website CAN NOT be referenced as factual information ever for any reason.

nvidia posts all the specs on their site
cores, speeds, ram, speeds, tmus, rops everything
performance speeds you can calc out, or use gpuz results to show them

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/geforce-gtx-650/specifications/

for some time, amd only listing rx x00 or whatever in device manager or dxdiag and other software as the gpu, forced people to use gpuz and hwcompare to figure out what gpu they actually had, since it listed the core counts along with tmus and rops
