Which makes it even more absurd.
I got the 13900k btw and in some games like cyberpunk it does reach similar temps (AIO water cooled).
But it's damn scary!
set the pump to be at 100% all the time
it takes time for the pump to begin moving or change the speed of the fluid,
else sudden spikes can heat the fluid at the pump and throttle before the pump can begin moving enough cool fluid back from the rad
Even with liquid cooling I was bouncing off 90C. So I went in the ICUE controls and set up an aggressive pump and fan temperature curve. It's a slope until the CPU hits 70C. Then everything is set to go to 100%. Now the CPU temps at game load bounces between 65 and 79C.
Occasionally it bounces off 80C. According to the best multi-source info I have, continuous temps at or under 80C under load are considered optimal. But you MUST make sure your TEMP
control software is set aggressively. The i9 1400K is unusually heat tolerant, but you really should stay comfortably below 90C.
