I think core 2 duo represented some of the earlier intel Macintoshes. Depending on how far back you go, Apple was either using Power P.C. or Motorola 68000 chips before that. Exactly what that means for what kind of vintage Mac O.S. software you can run, I do not know though.
right :)
P7550 is a mobile processor used in imac from 2008.
i m using it rn
Intel Macs launched with Core Duo (no 2) processors and Apple even launched a Mac Mini with a Core Solo in it. They were quickly upgraded though, likely due to the fact that Core 2 processors just dropped in to existing designs.

Good times! It's at my parent's place I do fire it up for some old school source engine nostalgia...
I used to own some of those back in thr days.. they were not faster but were a nice gimmick.
when amd & intel alongside the others still used the same sockets;)
but like you I have tossed soo many 486d and early p1 p2xand p3 in the trash alongsude many crt that now woulf be worth a fortune..

i have a few other laptops and desktop laying around (think i mention a 1 or might have mentioned 1 or more in that link), just havent dug through the rest, not sure i have anything much older than those, most of that may have been lost in moves, sold, or given away.
but them things are "fast" for what they are, but for sure slow compared to what we have currently.

And hey while its old,it isnt bad at all!Curently im playing vampyre on it at 1080p everything on max FPS locked on 30. And yeah i believe 30 is just fine cause it feels more cinematic and realistic.Only fighting or some hack and slash games need to run at 60 or higher fps on my opinion.Last but not least my problem is lack of newer instruction sets like avx and avx 2 which is required by newer games.

in my old tech box. actually have alot of older cpu's i've just taken out of PC's when people gave me their old computers to ether work on or sell.
Also still have a Q9650 sitting in a Z68 motherboard somewhere.
socket 775 cpu in a socket 1155 mb? why
Just dug it out and it's actually sitting in a Gigabyte EP45 board. The Z68 had my current CPU, i7-3770K before it moved to Z77. Sorry for the confusion.
Also, just add that while looking for the motherboard I found 3 GPU's that have been in the same draw for years - Asus HD4870; eVGA GTX480 and eVGA GTX670. (Think it's about time to have a clear out.)
