Most games will not use Ray. Many developers are still using GTX. :p
You will have to check the settings as all systems handle RT differently.
Try Lego: Builder's Journey, Cyberpunk 2077, or Control, or Metro Exodus to see real differences.
It's not even night and day in screenshots let alone gameplay. Who's going to walk around and stare at puddles?
The fact is this technology is hyped up garbage that's designed to target people wearing green glasses.
It’s different but not much better IMHO. Not when considering a massive FPS tax.
My personal favourite example of Ray Tracing is in Witcher 3. Especially realistic real time shadows on people’s faces.
You may not notice it at first but when you switch RT off the game looks like it’s made of plastic.
If we talk business perspective where Nvidia marketing tries to make it look like the second coming and putting unreasonable pricetags on their cards - then yeah sure.
However reflections DEFINITELY benefit a lot. I distinctly remember being at awe from the visuals in 2019's Resident Evil 2 remake that looked pretty much flawless, except those ugly screen-space reflections that would take you right out of the immersion.
Either way I got the RTX card for DLSS first and foremost, now that is a proper revolutionary technology. Playing Battlefield in 1440p while the system renders it at just 720p allows me to comfortably increase other graphics settings.
Ah yes, Control too. The difference in reflections and lighting is quite noticeable, I'd say it's the one game that showcases the technology quite well
Runs great. 70fps maxed out on my PC at 1440p DLSS-Q
"oh no someone disagrees with me, better block them" right, and i play in 4k 120+ fps no dlss as dlss lowers your internal resolution and then upscales it
rt is marginal garbage
I prefer watching and playing things that look actually good. Avatar: The Last Airbender netflix live action comes to mind.
Want to know something cool about it?
It uses path tracing ;)
rt in movies and shows has been used since 1979, they're prerendered
But yeah, ray-tracing is seriously over-hyped otherwise.
You weren't arguing anything, you just tossed out an insult in response to him stating it's been around a while as if you didn't agree with it but had nothing of value to add.
