3060 with an i7 9700k?
I’m wondering if I should upgrade my rx 580 to a 3060, but I have an I7 9700k and I’m wondering if my cpu won’t be able to handle it. I have 16gb of ram, a 750W PSU, and play on 1080p. Would a 3060 be a good purchase for an upgrade or not? The I7 9700K is the best cpu I could get with my motherboard.

gurgle searching is almost useless
3060 does have 16 lanes, my bad
3050 is 8 lanes, and a few lower end amd gpus also do (rx 6600/xt, 7600/xt)

they can suffer on pci-e 3.0 when they do need more data

I don't see no bottleneck between the two. The only problem here is the 3060!

The RTX 3060 12GB cost about the same as its biggest rival, the RX 6750 XT 12GB which consistently beats the RTX 3060 12GB at same setting + resolution.
