Taming the fox (Firefox)
I have always used Firefox since it was released. But it has gone too far in blocking content to prevent ads. For instance, If I go to the SpaceX page to watch the latest launch. I click on play and I just get a blank screen. Firefox blocks the video. If I use Edge, I can play the video.
What setting in Firefox controls this?

Is it up to date?
Add blockers will stop some videos disable add blocker.
Windows 7 or 10?
Works fine for me.
Open Firefox and click the menu icon in the up-right corner.
Click Add-ons > Extensions.
Find the ad blocker extension and toggle it off.
Click the shield icon at the left of the web address bar.
You will see “Enhanced Tracking Protection is ON for this site”. Toggle it off.

I suspect this is just a bug in Firefox, I have also noticed that some videos no longer work since version 126.0.1. I am specifically using the Flatpak version of Firefox.

The default Firefox tracker blocking should not impact the usability of pages, it is very careful in what it blocks.

If about:preferences#privacy is set to standard all websites should work fine.

Windows 10. Everything updated. I toggled that shield to turn off advanced blocking. Now the video plays. I have no extra ad blocker. Just what Firefox does by default. My enhanced tracking is set to strict. I guess I should drop that to standard. I never played with these before. I just use what Firefox sets by default.

Strict =
Stronger protection, but may cause some sites or content to break.
Firefox blocks the following:
Social media trackers
Cross-site cookies in all windows
Tracking content in all windows
Cryptominers
Known and suspected fingerprinters

I suspect it's fingerprinters and/or Cross-site stuff as it links to another site. May get link filtered but I'll paste it anyway

EDIT: Shock it wasn't filter.

I know the link because my Firefox is locked down and I have to enable scripts on sites before the script can run. If I visit the site I have to enable the spacex script first as it's thew only script but once enabled another appears, azureedge that when enabled links to the link posted above. So some cross-site stuff and that often involves fingerprinting.

I've noticed recently (on Firefox) that when opening a YouTube video in a new tab, sometimes the video is all Black and the page content won't load (it still has the rounded corner placeholder spots before content loads in). It happens rarely enough that I haven't looked into it, and for now I figured that was something to do with Adblocking on YouTube. It's not consistent like you're describing your issue to be (I'd say maybe one in 25 to 50 attempts results in it?), and refreshing the page gets it going.
