3080 vs 4070

So i want to upgrade my 2070 and the 3080 in my region costa minimum 900€ and the 4070 600€. Would the 4070 be a better purchase from price and performance?

4070 would be better price to performance and using frame gen would give the same fps as the 3080. I prefer to go with vram though as games are taking more and more but either choice is good depending on the resolution you intend to play.

I play on 1440p but also have a second monitor with 1080p

then either will be fine in that case. Just make sure you do not have a slower CPU and ram to get bottle necked.

those cards are nearly identical on performance with the 4070 the slighly fastee one by 2%

that its also much cheaper makes it a no brainer.. go with the 4070.

4070 is newer and clocked higher. it should perform better, even if it have lower specs. at least it will perform close to the other one and additional vram also helps.

I find that idiotic too.

a gamer..

*plays on pc exclusively
*has build that pc custom (so can name every parr in his build)
*has vast knowledge of hard and software, and is generally for family and friends the "can you fix my pc" guy.
*has high iq, he is a nerd, a geek the chessclub member playing d&d playing A+ student scifi loving savant kind of person.
*has gaming as a main hobby, that takes most his money and time.. spends minimum 20h per week on playing often much more.. and yes will buy new hardware often but one can NOT buy oneself into becoming a gamer.
*id say most commonly a gamer will have no parts in his pc case over 4 years old and whem he buys a complete pc he spends at least 1000 euro (mininum to be considered budgetgamer). and the average ganer around 2500 euro and it generally is build using a third of that budged on gpu.
that translates to spending on average 50-100 euro on hardware each month
*a gamer also hated handhelding or plug and play alll things casual and loves steep and difficilt learning curves.. will often spend 3 or more hours reading manuals and guides for every 1 hour played to get better

but than when I toss them a reference not get it.. they than only have watched a few eposodes and movies and mostly repeat obline memes .

if you have watched at least once each and every episode of all series and all movies gping back to tos..
and you remembered enough of it to now clearly see where lore errors are and can talk about it like your teacher want you to be able to talk about a book you red..

4070. Similar performance, more performance with frame generation, more vram, and consumes much less power.
