*New* Noctua NH-D15 Gen 2 to cost $150, available end of June, 2024!
I've been looking forward to this news for a few years now. And now, it is finally a reality! I have been using the Noctua NH-D15 Gen 1 for going on 10 years now. It is the best air CPU cooler that I have used. It's silent, keeps my i7 cool, smells just fine, and looks just fine. That being said, it will be interesting to see how the new generation of the famous NH-D15 performs with the new wave of CPUs launching in the not-so-distant, and distant future. What about you?

I got the nh-d15 chroma black in my pc right now.
Ehh just get Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE for $35 or Deepcool AK 620 for $55.
Doubt you see much difference. Noctua is overpriced as hell since they don`t manufacture their own parts.
Dumb pricing. Thats all i can say
Maaaan sometimes I hate buying hardware.
I just got a NH-D15 like a year or two ago and now there's going to be a superior gen 2???

Ah well. I like to see Noctua improving and staying relevant anyways.

honestly, I agree with this. I have the older TR Peerless Assassin 120 SE and it's doing a darn nice job cooling my R9 3900X. Thermalright offers very good value for performance...when my 360mm AIO dies on me in my main rig, I WILL get a higher end TR air cooler for my soon to be replaced R9 5900X (gonna swap it for an r7 5700X3D, the 5900X will go into my 2nd rig replacing the 3900X)
Thats great. I hope they have the S version also.

It's almost as if Noctua is 'thumbing their noses' at the cheaper heatsink manufacturers. "You're going cheap? We're going to increase the NH-D15 by $50!" 🤣😂😁😃

Big baller move, indeed.
Isn't it better to get NH-P1 and slap a fan on it?

It's an option, "better" is subjective.

Mine doesn't smell.
That said, even the Gen 1 should be fine for anything coming down the pipeline, and it appears the first generation of Core Ultra for desktops will have similar TDP. Intel may be well aware that the last 2 generations of the i-series are straight up fire breathing dragons.
Nice, I love the Noctua NH-D15 and have it in my setup!

The gen 2 seems to have a good off-set for better graphic card clearance. Also, has 8 heat pipes instead of 6. Better fans and fin stacks too.

I love how my chroma max noctua has the fins cut off on the bottom to allow for ram with tall heatsinks.

Nice. So it is more like nh-d15s? I literally have 4 of them. Best cooler ever. An upgraded version would be great.

there are 3 variants (to address ihs warp), and standoffs or hotspot shift positions, and shims to adjust install pressure

all for different purposes
buyer needs to know how to install it, and what cpu its best for
new or used cpu, and amd or intel
I like Noctua and I have D15 black chroma in my second/older PC but this pricing makes it hard to reccomend for any other build than a top end.

It’s over $100 more than for other, excellent twin tower coolers. Money that could be spent on actual GPU performance.

Saying that I would probably get it anyway if I was going for an air cooler. Even if it’s not sensible.
