Dead by daylight.. but its not a game like assasins creed where you need a lot ressources..

Check event logs and post error messages here, sure some will chime in with more info.

found one log in appdata/deadbydaylight but its chinese? anywhere i can find something else
If it's just that one game, also ask in the discussion board for that particular game. I don't play it, but I know my nephew does on an ancient GPU with 1 GB VRAM (GTX 650) so 4 GB VRAM should not be insufficient for the game itself (no idea what settings he plays at other than he uses 1080p).

You didn't disable or lower the page file/virtual memory for Windows by chance, did you?

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

1660s is a 6g gpu not 4g
unless its a cloned or nerfed version

Did you upgrade from the old GPU to the new GPU

You sure it is related to GPU memory?

Most of the time, GPU memory related crashes will reference video memory.
"Out of memory..." error message, unless it is an Nvidia/driver error message, would point to a system memory issue IMO.

Are you watching your system resources while in game? Maybe the game has a memory leak which is causing you to crash?

With CTD there should be a log in event viewer, post those details and this also.

Otherwise all your gonna get is a best guess.

There is no such thing as GTX 1660 Super with 4 GB VRAM, they only come with 6 GB, you probably have GTX 1650 Super there.

Out of memory when running something in Windows indicates to me that your VirutalMemory (PageFile) is configured all wrong. It's on Auto correct? Yea thats done all wrong. Manually set to to NONE, apply and reboot your system. Then go and change it again and then set to 16384 for both MIN and MAX. Apply and Reboot.

Then launch CMD (Run As Admin)
Type POWERCFG -H OFF
Press Enter

Now reboot and enjoy never seeing this problem ever again.

If something crashes, you simply go here to find the problem...
Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application

Could be a 1650 Super!

OP probably copy & pasted the specs from SPECCY, which has a bug where it always shows 4GB for GPUs that have above 4GB VRAM.

To look at your true specs, use CPU-Z & GPU-Z apps.

Out of memory = out of system memory.
Out of video memory = out of video card memory.

The question is how much stuff you're running and how much it all totals including Windows. Running a Stream with a game eats up RAM depending on how much stuff is in it.

If you're going to override Windows' memory management to begin with, you shouldn't need to do the first part anymore, not with a system with Windows and the page file set on an SSD anyway. That's an unnecessary holdover from the days of HDDs, as the idea was to prevent fragmentation of the page file in the case of increasing the size of it, but SSDs don't care about fragmentation.

And it's unlikely that Windows, when left to its own virtual memory management, is limiting it to a size that is too small to be causing that error for OP, so you shouldn't need to set a static size to a specific amount either. I say this as someone that did it myself, FWIW. That just leads to this issue down the line. People are suggesting to set it to 8 GB or 16 GB today, just like people were suggesting to disable it, or set it to 1 GB to 4 GB years ago.

Agreed. When dealing with errors, it's best to be exact as to the error message. Just saying something crashed and an error message said something to the extent of "insert phrase here" can be a plethora of things.

I threw out my best guess, for starters, but it'll save everyone's time OP (your own and those helping) to be more specific.
