Is 80c ok on a gpu that is mining 24/7?

So I am currently making use of my old ass 1070 to generate income (although not much) while I'm working and only recently has it been spiking past the usual 66c it's regularly running at.

My current OC settings are
60+ core voltage
90% power limit
temp limit of 92
150+ core clock
650+ memory clock

oh and I just found out it's pulling more watts than it did before, it's now pulling ~217W when it was originally pulling ~140W

Generate what income? You're going to spend more $ per day for power then what it will ever output in any crypto currency hash. Run the GPU stock. The clocks will make zero difference in the how fast it can produce crypto, as this is basically set on a per-GPU basis, nothing to do with how the GPU is clocked. Return all of the Clocks and Voltage back to stock and set the Power Limit as high as it will go.

With the age of a 1070, i would give it some new thermal paste
That should help with irregular temps

With that said
80C by itself isnt bad for a GPU, but staying at that temp for a number of hours each day isnt ideal.

You'd make more money quicker by just selling the card.

It is doubtful that you will make a lot of profit.

My suggestion is just to keep the card in a safe place.
I assume you have a better card presently for gaming.
If that one craps out, you still have the gtx 1070 as backup.

No. Undervolt it/underclock it (core UNDERCLOCK,not memory-you need to OC memory for mining if you want profit) and change thermal paste/fan curve. Depending on what brand your 1070 is,you can probably mine with having around 60C (depending on brand,even below)

Your settings might not be the best. Depends on what you mine. Might get about $3.15 usd a day mining minus maybe ~$0.30 in electricity at 10 cents per kwh.

60-65c would be the max I'd run it at in part because of parts of the card getting hotter than other parts.

Might need to increase fan speed or change other settings.

well I underclocked it, it's now supposedly only running ~100W at 53 degreesI guess it'll have to do since I want it to last. ~$2.20 a day but I can't complain. It's not really pulling much anyway so it shouldn't impact my energy bill or profits as much.

BTC as I don't know how to switch the mining algorithim with nicehash.

I'll keep this information in mind when I build the dedicated miner I want, a twin 3080 system.

Nicehash should benchmark and change the mining stuff for you. Should be on daggerhashimoto since it's a nvidia gpu I am guessing.

I mean I am applying changes, but it's not effecting the wattage at all though strangely my estimated profit jumped to almost 4$ might be the 700+ memory clock I am stable with.

You should def. be earning more with that. Friend has 1070 and I undervolted (via MSI Afterburner) and underclocked it for him,he earns around 3$-3.5$ in 24hrs mining ETH and has around 80W power consumption while having average of 56C.

Oh no it's quite different now it's like at $3.75 though it might just be because BTC nosedived from ~60k to 55k
