my d and c drives are getting really full

if your in the red your never going to free up enough space using cleaners.delete some apps
if its your O.S drive.if its your game drives delete some games.personally i do a fresh OS
install every year or 2.you can easily see the speed youve lost over time.and the trash you accumulated.

i took a lot of screen shot pictures of my steam games over the years. is that possibly why my d drive is so full and has no room or does that have nothing to do with it? or is it something else?

As far as i remeber drive wiper could delete important things , Unindtall programs manually - either by Steam launcher/app or Windows->settings-Apps on Windows 10

i deleted a lot of things on my d drive with cc cleaner now i have more space but not enough. now im letting cc cleaner run drive wiper, if drive wiper is a bad idea please let me know and i will stop it. does it just make more space or wipe it clean?

Windows has some in-built commandlines if you like. Open cmd as Administrator and copy/paste:

cleanmgr /sageset

wait until UI comes up and tick as many boxes as you like. Then paste:

cleanmgr /sagerun

For specific Windows update cleanup, paste:

dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

To get cmd, type cmd into search or Start menu and right-mouse click on that, then click Run as Adminstrator. Very easy.

TreeSize is another very small app that gives you info on the bulk folders in your drives. If you're not sure about something, look it up online before deleting anything.

For general maintenance, incl. TRIM/defrag, and any system repairs, open Control Panel/Security and Maintenance/Maintenance/Start mainenance. Best to run this when not using your machine. May take up to an hour (more?) depending.

As Crosseyed Mie said; Don't tick all the non-browser Ccleaner boxes. At least not the Wipe Free Space box. It'll take off a good chunk of SSD lifespan, and even with an HDD, it would just take hours and be kind of pointless unless you're trying to prevent sensitive data recovery.

If you do entire drive the entire drive will be erased, so only do that if you want that

What logith and Crosseyed say: try to not tick every box willy-nilly and read carefully first. If you make a mistake and enable too much to be deleted, it can't be undone unless you already have a verified image of your system.

I remember not really knowing what I was doing with BleachBit and ended up nearly destroying my C:\ drive.

oh wow i just made a whole bunch of room and space in my d drive. i went to local storage and deleted something in the steam library., it said it was to big for the recycle bin so i just deleted it. i hope it was nothing important. but now, i can download tons of games

What was the file

i went to local storage. im not sure what it was but that is why its there to free up space. i clicked "manage other large folders" it was to big for the recycle bin my only option was to delete it. everything is working fine nothing is missing. it says "select one to manage it in file explorer" my only option was to delete it
