Worth to upgrade RTX 4070 SUPER from RTX3070?
Current Specs:

GIGABYTE B450 Gaming X
AMD Ryzen 9 5900x
RTX 3070 Gigabyte
32 GB RAM
850W Power Supply

-------

I brought the card from friend (new Factory) for really good price (250 euro) (2022). I hear, that RTX4070 SUPER are the best (for now) price/performance for 1080p/1440p gaming. Its gonna worth to upgrade or not?

Not big enough step up to warrant spending $600 on it imho. It`s basically RTX 3080 / 3080 Ti.

Then the best way is to wait for rtx 5000 series. Right?

Pretty much.

Nah wait for the 6000 or 7000 series. 3000 is very powerful and will last you for many more years.

It up you if really wanted to burn some cash, but if not then no not worth.

If need extra performance, but want to save, then I recommend wait until next year when 5000 series release, normally new gen release every 2 - 3 years with super version year after.

I'm thinking of picking up a 5060 ti for myself if not using 12pin connector as I don't trust them, and aim for 16GB version.

What I hear is, that the 12-pin (to 2x 8-pin ) connector are totally fine, aslong the oc isn't going super hard

This just personal thing, and tbh if they were going this route they could've made the connector in better places to avoid bending. Again this just personal thing.

I'ts not a major upgrade, but, since you got the 3070 for only 250 Euro, it might be worth it, just about. It really depends on what you're playing and what resolution you're in. Most games run fine on the 3070.

I've got a 4070 Super which really helps on Cyberpunk 2077

yes

Actually, I was playing around with Path tracing on Cyberpunk 2077 and with frame generation at 1440P, DLSS balanced. It's perfectly playable, very smooth in fact, even in Dogtown!

If you don't go 4K at 120hz+, save your money. Or send it to me if too much money. :steamhappy: :steammocking:

Wait until the 5090/5080 comes out and then check pricing or look at upcoming holiday sales and such. Amazon Prime Day is June 11-12 and then you have US Independence Day Sales.

From a 3070 then I'd move to a 4070 Ti Super to make it worth it. 4070 Ti Super beats a 4080 in mostly all games

The general rule of thumb is that you pick your card with the expectation of a 3 to four year life cycle. Anything else is going to be a rather lateral move.

3070 launched for $500. 3080 launched for $700. That represents a differential of $200. Going market rate for a 3070 is $260, so you're losing $240 on the sale, which is in excess of $200. One might argue that you should have spent your money on a 3080 in the first place.

Granted, a 4070 super has performance more along the lines of a 3090 ti, so you would end up ahead in that regard, but we're nearing the end of the 4000 series life cycle. Speculation was that 5000 series cards were planned for quarter 1 2025, which is already a rather short amount of time in my opinion, but now people are speculating that they'll be rushed to market to stymie competition from A.M.D. and Intel.

Intel Arc Battlemage was confirmed for release this year, so I'd at least wait for that. This is especially so since rumor has it that they're going to have a new $500 flagship tier, and if nothing else, that could really shake up the market in the $500-600 price range.

Oh, and Computex is happening in the first week of June. Buying stuff right before a major expo. is kind of a bad idea.
