Micro center is opening in Santa Clara, CA late 2024!
22 years since they left, glad they are coming back

You already posted this. Why you delete and post again?
After Fry's shut down in 2020, someone had to go national. MC is opening a new store also in Miami, Florida

But this might destroy MicroCenter because there is no longer felonies for minor OR grand theft larceny in both California and New York.

frys wasnt horrible

Maybe certain locations were good, but I was talking mainly about Frys as a whole.

Every time I've ever asked folks in Canada, they always say they are terrible at best. Like BestBuy.

Neither BestBuy or Frys are on the same level as MicroCenter; not by a long shot.

It's good to see a new place opening up though, as it's been quite a trend now of places shutting down for good ever since COVID started. Now that COVID is over, there is still the poor economy to deal with. 2/3 of all the Sams Club and Walmart are shutting down too.

Good for you.

Proper Brick and Mortar electronics stores must never be allowed to die out.

It's quite an annoying trip all the way through Minneapolis to the one near here, but it's worth it for this bear to be in his true native habitat for a while.

yea, bestbuy support, even their geeksquad, is no better than calling walmart for tech support

i have seen so many of their screwups and horrible attempts at upgrading or fixing pcs.

Their idea of fixing a PC is to do an OS reinstall; then they don't even test it, install all the Drivers; etc. A moron can do that much, correctly.

This sounds like they found someone who knows nothing about computers and told him to watch Linus Tech Tips.

I'm serious though, it's common knowledge, BestBuy's GeekSquad are useless folk.

yea, 20 years ago when geeksquad was its own company, they were awesome

then bestbuy bought them, and turned them into regular bestbuy employees, without any kind of training or tech repair cert.

Geek squad is a major joke. If you go there for them to reinstall windows they will say your hdd was bad so we had to put a new one in. Then charge you 3 to 400 dollars.

But best buy themselves are not that bad.

As a former wearer of the short-sleeved poplin shirt and clip-on tie, I agree. They're sales people. Their goal is not to fix your computer, it's to sell you more stuff. Our largest clientele were clueless old people who didn't realize they were being taken for a ride.
