Not sure about VR joysticks but, steam has a calibration tool so you might be able to increase the deadzone to eliminate the drift.
floating the voltage pin, and a cap pulls it up or down causing its value to change instead of staying at the dividers voltage
you cannot calibrate a sensor that always moves
giving it a huge deadzone might help, but that make the stick almost useless
