Random Crashes with Audio Loop, what else can I do?

Hello, I just bought a new PC a few weeks ago. I few days after I bought it, my PC began freezing with an audio loop that sounds like a buzzing, or it will just freeze and restart itself. It occurs randomly, and I thought it was gone until it happened again 10 minutes ago. It never seems to happen when I'm in a Skype call, oddly enough. I've tried disabling different audio drivers in device manager, I've tried updating mobo drivers, changing my GPU drivers, upping fan speed (no overheat issues, but why not), and I'm still having this issue. What else can I do?

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750K Quad Core
RAM: G-Skill 8GB, 1x
Motherboard: Asrock FM2A55M-VG3+
PSU: Kingwin ABT-650MM
HDD: Toshiba 1TB

This a pre-built desktop or custom build?
Where u buy it from?
Is the OS genuine?


For starters, that motherboard is very bad. Heard nothing but trouble from buyers.

I bought it form Ironside Computers,which custom build PCs. The OS is genuine. What is bad about the motherboard? :o

Have u tried a clean OS install? Since it is still "like new" I would try this.

As for the motherboard; it is generally just poor quality. But most of its issues can be addressed by updating to the latest BIOS version.

I would prefer not to do a clean OS install, thus why I'm trying everything else, but if it comes to it, I can. I updated everything on the mobo except my BIOs >_< I'll do that now

the kingwin psu is a pssive pfc unit (very old design), that could be problem

the 760 isnt a power hungry gpu, but itll be bottlenecked by the cpu on most games

Yea given this type of issue I would have to highly consider it coming down to either the Motherboard or the Power Supply. But it can be quite hard to trouble-shoot without doing it on-site as it could also be RAM or other factors.

I would just contact Ironside Tech Support and explain the issue u are having and what all u've tried to combat the issues.

overall its a mismatched build
poor cpu, decent gpu, but to use it, it needs a better cpu, but no fm2 cpus are any better
single 8g dimm vs a dual ch kit (fine til you add a 2nd matching dimm)
toshiba hdd, slower than wd/seagate drives with similar specs
poor passive pfc psu

Agh, this is all great. I just updated BIOS. I'm hoping that fixed it. It runs fantastic when it does work, thought. I can contact Ironside tomorrow.

Yea play around with it as-is. Just letting you know the overall quality is not very good.

So yes try it with the updated BIOS and see how it does. As the later update addresses alot of various instability issues for that motherboard.

Are you Verifying Game Cache for any newly installed Steam games?
That often can help solve many game related issues.

I can try that, but I don't think that it will be very likely because of the same crash happening across many game.

edit: nm, the 750k has no gpu

There is no onboard GPU; that would be onboard an APU that has it; which for a 750K, it does not have an onboard GPU.


Also check in Control Panel > Programs and Features
and look for an entry for "Realtek HD Audio". If that is missing, that could be an issue to as that means it is just using the OS built-in driver for the onboard audio and not an official one, which u can get here:

Then click on "64bits Windows8.1 Driver"

Drivers from ASRock are pointless; as they are all out-dated and won't be updated any further. Get the drivers from the source. The AMD VGA Drivers are of no use and serve no purpose unless u have an installed AMD APU that has an onboard GPU; again the 750K does not have one, it is a CPU only.
