how to use two mice at the same PC with different DPI
Hi everyone!

I have two mice: The Logitech G502 Hero (wired) and the Razer Viper (wired).
I personally prefer the shape of the G502 Hero but it is too heavy for FPS games imo.
I would love to have them both always connected to my PC with different DPI settings so I can just change mice whenever I switch from normal use / other games to FPS games like CS:GO.
How can I do that the mice keep their different DPI settings when both connected to my PC at the same time? Is it even possible?

Thanks in advance!

I, personally, wouldn't use 2 mice plugged into the same PC.
Could cause issues with tracking, and reports. (especially if one of them is higher DPI, and it's reading between 2 points fast, it'll cause jitter on the screen, I've seen it, and done it.)

But, I'm pretty sure it should be as simple as leaving them plugged in, and setting the DPI in their softwares.
Pick up the one you want, and off you go.

Though, my advice, grab yourself a USB extender with multiple ports (like this[www.amazon.co.uk])
It doesn't add ANY latency, it will allow you to turn off and on USB devices with the push of a button, and allows you to easily plug whatever you want into it.
Win-Win imho.

thanks! Haven't thought of just turning on or of ports. I still have an old USB hub laying around here I don't use which has a switch to turn it on or off so I think I'll just use that . Would it also work if I'd just deactivate one of the mice in the device manager? Or would that lead to the same problems?

Why go through the trouble of turning it on and off in Device Manger? Just plug it in, in an easy to reach spot, like under your monitor, when you want to play with it.

Though, it shouldn't be a problem.

if a mouse has a dpi button, use that

windows mouse dpi scaling is global for all mouse inputs

Just set the dpi in the branded software since both use different software. It will only apply to that model of mouse.

Just use a simple USB extender cable. Have the end on top of your desk. Or a USB hub. Plug in the mouse you want to use now. No conflicts. Or get a simple USB switcher with buttons. Switch as needed.

Thanks for all the answers! I'll then just use a hub with on/off switches on every port.

Sabrent do a USB 2 version for slightly less. Unless your transfer data from USB drives/Sticks the USB 2 has more than enough power and bandwidth for what you need. I have and use 2x of the USB 2 versions my BT headset dongle, BT for controller and charging cables to DS4 dock and Headset and mouse charging cables to.

Transfer speeds via the USB 3 version not as good as my case so couldn't justify the higher price.....small as it was.
