Intel NUC 13 Pro RNUC13ANKi5000U Intel Core 13th Gen i5-1340P Slim Kit
Just got this ordered.

Hopefully it can handle burning in subtitles into video fine with at up to two streams at least maximum. With Emby or Plex

Maybe and hopefully some overkill. Hoping I don't need the i7 model version instead. :(

No gaming just media player server.

Yes I got the extra ddr4 ram and ssd.

its basically a laptop without a display and drives

if you can find a similar spec'd laptop at its price get that instead

True.

Hmmm that actually a good idea! Thanks.

So a laptop with the same specs would not be slower ?

laptops drive may be slower, but would be limited by encoding abilities first

Ok. Thanks

The only disadvantage I see right now of a cheaper laptop with the same or similar specs is most new laptops, not all, do not have a Ethernet port anymore :(

That could be a deal breaker.

Depends on how much it would slow Emby or Plex down ?

The ones (laptops) that do are $100 to $200 + more than this after everything is said and done hmm.

$700 to $900+ most laptops are with ethernet ports.

At least new ones with 13th generation intel processor.

Unless there a way that is good to add a ethernet port to a laptop without one?

Thank you for the help!

Greatly appreciated.

Now that I think about it do not really need a monitor, keyboard or mouse. Already have a spare one when needed at first. Then afterwards never needed because I will use remote desktop if ever needed to control mini pc.
