HyperV
I want to use hyperV to run games on a vm. I have an old GPU and am getting a newer one. Does anyone know how to dedicate one of the GPUs to the vm? Is it possible in HyperV?

Firstly what are you using for:
CPU, GPU, OS
How much RAM?

I want to be able to have friends play games with me like a console. So I want to have a vm as one of my monitors. I’m hoping to dedicate a gpu to it. I’m planning on getting an i9-1400KF an NVIDIA 4070 ti super, and 64gb ram. I’ll be running windows 11 natively. I’m debating on getting pro for hyperV or using a different type 1 VM. I’m not sure if I’ll use Linux or windows on the VM. Is there any other software you’d recommend instead for the VM?

Just install Windows Pro, always, no question. Doesn't matter if you have a key for it or not. Only reason to ever install Home is you bought a prebuild or laptop and that's all that came with it. Even those nothing stopping you from wiping that all out and do clean install of Win10/11 Pro

So what is the 2nd GPU going to be?

I would suggest to NOT get a KF
Just get the K and OC it if need be.
There might be a time when you actually want to use the Intel onboard GPU.

What is actually going to run in the VM?
Most games are not going to work properly inside a VM unless you use a certain VM software, which will not be free.

I would suggest any RTX 40; for what purpose?
Better off getting AMD 7900 GRE / XT / XTX
During a sale discount, which you can often find online, you can easily get decent discounts on such AMD GPUs. All the RTX 40 are a scam/joke. Unless you actually need and can afford RTX 4090 perhaps.
