FPS/Hz target determines the CPU.
The biggest part of a gaming pc budget should be allocated on the GPU.
A CPU with more cache does offer a significant increase in performance if the limitation stems from the CPU-side. But the RX 7600 XT is in any case only an entry-level GPU. It offers not enough performance and will be the limiting factor at any resolution in a system with a CPU with a good single-threaded performance.
If budget constrained, swap the 6 and the 8 and you're better off: Ryzen 5 7600(X) with an RX 7800XT
You can still upgrade the CPU in time. Releases of new CPUs on the AM5 socket is guarenteed for at least another year (Ryzen 9000 guaranteed and maybe even Ryzen 11000).
HU recently published a video on a similar topic.
A GPU with higher computing power offers better performance with a weaker CPU in graphically more dermaning games, compared to a system with a better performing CPU but a weaker GPU. Even at 1080p.
i was actually thinking of getting the 7800x3d with the 4070Ti but its a bit expensive... so i thought about something cheaper... and end up with those..
what you think if i go with a cheaper cpu like the ryzen 5 7600 and instead of the 7600xt i go for the rtx 4060? or maybe even the ti if the budget is enough
As long as you plan to someday upgrade the 7600xt but keep the 7800x 3d for at least one more GPU, it will be a worth while investment. If you plan to get a new machine with a new GPU, get a lower end CPU for now.
the problem is that you haven't told us what you are aiming for:
- 1080p high fps?
- 1440p ultra quality and high fps?
- 2160p ultra quality capped at 60?
I currently have an RX 6600 XT with that cpu. I haven't played warzone yet but typically I do at 1440.
You should spend less on CPU and get a faster gfx card, if you can't afford to have both.
The 7600xt is not that much better than a 6600xt. That's not really a meaningful upgrade.

And the 4060 is basically the same, except for better RT & DLSS.
