That's a flagship phone. It's very expensive and you might end up getting more than you need from it. I always ask people when it comes to deciding between budget/older models vs the most new and expensive thing: "What you want it to do? What do you expect to do with it now and what matters most to you and that you need?"

Chances are, cheaper budget phones or simply older flagships can fulfill your requirements without breaking the bank. Do you care about storage space and things like headphone jacks, SD card slots, and better battery life? Budget phones like Motorola G Power 5G 2023 or LG V60 ThinQ or 3rd party phones like HUAWEI can have those things, at 2/3 the fraction of the price of a flag ship (basically under $300).

That doesn't mean they're "worse". Only that they might not have some "premium" features that flagships would. Now, what is "premium" you ask? Simple. Glass back vs plastic back. Gorilla Glass Viticus vs Gorilla Glass 3. Now just for those things alone, it might not matter if you buy a screen protector and/or protection case anyway.

Other stuff is usually having a better camera, higher photo resolution, more storage space, and a better and more powerful processor. But those things also depend on whether you care for 4K photos/videos and/or gaming on your phone. If you don't, you're better off with budget phones like Google Pixel or Samsung's Galaxy A series lineup. Or older flagships. The "newest and most expensive" thing isn't usually the best for your needs. Look at online reviews and/or videos.

While plenty will hype up flagships just because they happen to be flagships, that doesn't mean everything they talk about is something that would matter to you. Case in point, it's like choosing a GPU. If you still game at 1080P at 60 or 120 FPS on a 144/165 Hz monitor, then you probably don't need a 4090 for that. Just the same, you don't need the newest and most expensive phone if it's overkill for your wants/needs. Think of those flagships like a 4090. Do you NEED a 4090?
If you want to test the waters with Samsung's Galaxy series, then either get a budget A series phone, or an older S series (like S21 or S22).

Thats why I used iPhone to begin with. Hope you dont regret it like I did
I’m using mine since 2020, bought 12 pro max on release to try out.
So far it’s been great.

For the money it’s better to just get an iPhone. They offer reliable desktop class performance and for a much longer lifespan. Idk what you do on your phone to where Android is needed. We have PCs for the more dull tasks…

Oh cool, that's the exact same one I had:) It served me well, but I was immediately disappointed to find that 12 Pro Max specifically has a yellow tint to the screens :/

The novelty of iOS was nice ubt I felt like I just broke out of prison returning to Android after using iOS, but I guess that depends on your needs. The latest iOS update making it very difficult to create app-specific notification sounds was the final straw for me.
Personally all i need from my phone is good camera, 6.5-7.0" screen, min 256gb of space since i have many playlists and tonns of photos and a smooth interface.
Not sure which phone is gonna be next, but it's either iphone again or pixel if google is not gonna fk up with their specs
