When i enable expo it takes forever for the pc to come on.
i really wish they didnt build me a computer with an asus motherboard. its like why god why.

The RGB even flickers after it fully booted up.

damn pc wouldnt reboot at all after installing the chipset too.

sure why not.

I was getting like 80-100 fps at the very beginning of the game depending on the area.
how much fps do you get on ultra with crowd density set to high after exiting Vs appartment building. for me that is a real fps killer and here i was thinking myhardware would be able to hand it. i dropped down to like 67.

I haven't played that game at all really, so yeah, I don't have that fps to say.

you think my bad performance might be related to outdated bios because everything else is up to date.

Well, first you want to say what performance you're actually getting with the numbers and data and we go from there. All this matters. Either way, I would update my bios but doubt it'll help speed. But, I guess it probably is a chance a bios updates fixes "your performance issues".

the only way i get better performance is when i set pedestrian density to either medium or low.
i did notice a bit of a discrepincy in this video where he has crowd density set to high and it doesnt look high.

I go through the same thing and I have an MSI motherboard.
i bet gigabyte or asrock motherboards dont have this problem. i got my new computer and i hate it already.

Hi again,

It's an AM5 + EXPO thing, especially during the first couple boots.

And also again, the only way to you can have any meaningfull impact in boot time (besides disabling EXPO and tweaking your BIOS) is.. to update your BIOS.

*broken record playing in the background

Since it's a new prebuilt PC you can always get a refund.

Did you get a prebuilt without OS? How does one know that the motherboard hurt the performance? Since I have a Asus mb too, I would like to test it.

Mobo can realistically affect performance if the VRM is not strong enough to power the CPU and is thermal throttling but it may only happens with cheaper mobos combined with 16 cores 7950x I believe.
Alternatively there is some serious problem with RAM speed (no expo, single channel) that can affect CPU speed.

i dont think theres a damn thing wrong with my computer and i just didnt get the performance i expected. its very likely they had over clocked the crap out of the 7800xt and didnt disclose it before running these benchmarks because amd gpus are known for their overclocking potential. he likey had a 20% overclock wich would make a huge difference in performance.

well ill be damned it says right in the video description its overclocked.

And what would you lose without enabling Expo ?
CPU performance and potentially less FPS in CPU bound scenarios.

that guys bench marks were nearly identical to this guys using a 7900xt.

so you know the card hes using has a huge over clock. its also a tripple slot card.

theres nothing wrong with my computer. we dont know what his overclock setting are but they are alot.

his card comes with a 16% overclock to base clock right out of the box and he likely overclocked it further.

C1REX , 7% , is it high ?
Averages are less affected but 1% lows and .01% stutters can exceed 20%. So dips are more affected.

What is the model of the motherboard?
Messaggio originale di smallcat:
7 games and cherry picking the titles ! No real scenario . Fishy and not convincing at all . Also the OP has a slower card .
Here are some more examples showing over 20% difference in 1% lows.
