Solid videocard but bad value for the money.
Worse than 6700XT in my opinion.
nice budget RT card. Still overpriced though like everything else in GPU market this days.
Trash for the price, honestly.

Nvidia took what should have been a 4050 and called it a 4060 then slapped the xx70 tier price tag on it.

Good for entry level as its the new standard.
Gigabyte sells a low profile version of the card that's the most powerful half-height card on the market[www.bhphotovideo.com]. It's a double slot card though which limits its applicability though, and you can buy a 3050 for a bit cheaper[www.newegg.com] from Gigabyte if that form factor is of any interest to you. Low profile cards are generally seemed to be released as some of the last cards of a given generation, so it could be some time yet before we see anything better. It also doesn't need Nvidia's melty adapter since the power consumption is under 75 watts.

Still, the small form factor version is something you might consider picking up if your hand is forced, such as with a 12th generation Optiplex 7000 S.S.F. case. However, the fact that it is not a single slot card limits its applicability in that area.

As a full sized card though, it looks like it performs pretty similar to the RX 6650 XT though[www.gpucheck.com], which is $80 cheaper (give or take) and with these lower end cards that represents at least a 25% difference in price.

Ray tracing also represents a pretty big hit to game performance currently, so it is hard to recommend it on that basis unless you are going for the upper tiers of performance. By the time we switch over to a pure ray tracing model of game design, we'll have newer generations of cards.

Also, it looks like the 3060 ti beats it in Passmark[technical.city], which is a bit of an embarrassment for the newer generation card, esp. when the 3060 ti costs around the same these days.

Well, I can't say your wrong when the Gigabyte uses the same cooler design for the low profile 3050 and 4060, but to be fair, I feel like expectations regarding what the customer should be spending to get a given tier of performance have risen across the board. Nvidia has definitely abandoned the sub-$300 market.

The 4060 also being 8x instead of 16x could also be a problem for people still using pcie 3.0 or, heaven for it pcie 2.0
Overpriced, by AMD instead.

I think people still don't understand the money/value/performance/hype biais concerning Graphics cards or processors.
Higher numbers don't mean more performance but GFX cards companies use this hype for people to consume.

Just look at steam forums with 4070/4090 people having perma crashes, overheatings, low fps etc.......even on indie games with "low/mid" system requirements.
For the price each of this card is sold.........this is not necessary to cough out that much money.

Get an RTX 3080 it's enough to play all maxed out.

Mine is a Gigabyte version of the RTX 4060 (don't remember the exact model). I got it on sale for $260 about 3 months ago. So far I have been very pleased with its performance. I game at 1440 resolution and so far I have been able to max out most games while maintaining 60+ fps, and the ones that I haven't been able to max out I can still run at high to very high settings. I doubt it would perform very well at 4k resolution in most titles.

I know a lot of people like to crap on this card, but if you can pick up one in the sub $300 price range I think its got a lot of bang for the buck.

40series = overpriced crap, i was running amd cpu+nvidia gpu setups since early 2000s, until last year. switched to amd gpu and not going to look back ever, zero driver issues, good software, great gpu temps. dont care about power consumption as my old 2080ti was consuming over 300w as well. Im 100% sure that you will get way better gpu for the same money with amd. stop being scared of issues that are in the past of amd. its not like nvidia doesnt have driver issues lol, not to mention 30/40 series hardware issues.
