Should I keep my gaming laptop or buy an Xbox Series S?

My laptop has a GTX 1660 Ti, i7-10750H, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. It can play RDR2 with optimized settings on 1080p at 60 FPS most of the time, same with Cyberpunk 2077 on medium-high settings with FSR. There are FSR 3 mods out there, which means the technology will prolong my laptop's lifetime for a few more years.

However, I've been thinking about getting an Xbox Series S because my laptop is so loud and hot when gaming. I don't know if that's stupid or not, but I've bought many games for the console such as RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, the Mafia Trilogy, Control Ultimate Edition, Black Ops Cold War and a couple more. Considering that GTA VI is going to come out on consoles first this also adds another point towards getting a console.

Should I get it soon before games become more expensive or stick with my laptop for now? I'm aware of the Series S' limitations, but they don't bother me. As long as it runs games fine I'm okay with that.

But yes you can easily hookup the Laptop to a 4K TV or a better Monitor and run everything at 1080p if needed. Do you typically play games w/ Keyboard & Mouse, or a Controller?

Around 100Mbps.

I can't connect my laptop to a TV because of the parents getting mad at me for doing so. I play with both depending on the game.

Well see how much you enjoy Xbox Game Pass. I'm sure that can keep you going for months, maybe a year or so. So many games through that it's ridiculous.

Maybe by mid / end of 2024 we'll see a price drop on Xbox Series X.

Microsoft has plans for a new Xbox Console and an Xbox Handheld but those are not slated to come to light until at least 2026-27

I'm probably just gonna get a used Series S as I'm getting really impatient, and then later upgrade to the Series X when I move to another city for studies. I better get one as soon as possible due to the inflation in the country.

I don't think it works in Russia, though. It's harder to get games and subscriptions but it's still possible.

Another update, I just tried one of the FSR 3 mods for Cyberpunk 2077, and I'm getting over 100 FPS most of the time, which is insane! Perhaps I should save my money and stick to my laptop for now.
