Should I keep my gaming laptop or buy an Xbox Series S?

My laptop has a GTX 1660 Ti, i7-10750H, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. It can play RDR2 with optimized settings on 1080p at 60 FPS most of the time, same with Cyberpunk 2077 on medium-high settings with FSR. There are FSR 3 mods out there, which means the technology will prolong my laptop's lifetime for a few more years.

However, I've been thinking about getting an Xbox Series S because my laptop is so loud and hot when gaming. I don't know if that's stupid or not, but I've bought many games for the console such as RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, the Mafia Trilogy, Control Ultimate Edition, Black Ops Cold War and a couple more. Considering that GTA VI is going to come out on consoles first this also adds another point towards getting a console.

Should I get it soon before games become more expensive or stick with my laptop for now? I'm aware of the Series S' limitations, but they don't bother me. As long as it runs games fine I'm okay with that.

Microsoft is one of many that pulled sales and services from Russia and Belarus during the war.

Game Pass with a laptop would have been the best.

vpn is adding extra hops and compression and other crap that will make it unplayable

I guess you're right. Perhaps I could use a Game Pass to test games that are demanding for my laptop, like A Plague Tale: Requiem or Starfield, and compare them to the Series S.

Of course, because they're running on Microsoft's servers. I was talking about testing them on my laptop and then comparing the graphics and performance to the Series S.

xbos ss does not have optical drives
its games are tied to account only
x1x has odd, most x360 games and x1 games will work on it

i'd keep the laptop and buy a new one/build a pc when you can afford it

you'll end up spending so much more on a console,
it's cheaper today, but with games going on sale far less often and you have to pay
to play online, then Game pass is cool and all but you will never own those games
and it's a monthly service so again it'll add up pretty quickly.

So I got Xbox Cloud Gaming working, and 60ms doesn't feel too bad. Plus there are FSR 3 mods coming out soon, which should give a huge boost to FPS in recent games.
