Looking for an (in) expensive & decent case.
Hi there.

So for context my present case is the corsair carbide 400R.
There is nothing wrong with it. It has 2 x 120 ml and and 6 x 140 ml fans.
Airflow is good.
I seems graphics cards are becoming huge in size and weight.
Presenet GPU ASUS RTX 3080 OC. I will be looking to upgrade as some point.
A quick look at the RTX 4080 SUPER - 348.2 x 150 x 72.6.
I am not necessarily buying that card though.

What I want:
A case that can hold the large GPU + then some for future upgrades.
Lots of space for extra fans - which I have already. Ideally no fans with it to save money.
I am not interested in something pretty with RGB or glass panel.
Easy to remove & clean dust filters.
No 3.5 inch drives needed, maybe a couple of 2.5 sata SSDs
A GPU support for the big & heavy cards.

Most importantly inexpensive. I am not keen to not spend on something I do not need.

Any suitable suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Do not need GPU support like you are thinking. Simply buy a Case that has enough support to mount an RTX 4090 vertically. Then you won't have any issues moving forward.

All you need to look at really is what LIAN-LI offers. Plenty of decent quality and spacious Cases to choose from.

Those typically decent quality and spacious cases have a hefty price tag, well then ones I have looked at.

As for vertical mounts, the obvious drawback with kits is the blocking of pcie ports, which I use. There are some cases with specific mounts, but those are on the pricey side.

Not all Cases with vertical mount would block use of all the PCIE slots. In many you can still use those as long as the card is not too wide. Such an Elgato capture card or most PCIE sound cards which are generally small.

WiFi can be done via onboard the Motherboard (most have it now) or via external USB 3.0 WiFi with antenna array. I've used one of these from TPLink and it was quite good, support for WiFi-6 AX and does up to 1200Mbps. Connected to a TMobile 5G box getting approx 350-400Mbps download speeds.

Lian-Li and Phanteks have some very good choices. Most you might see is 200-300$

Is that the right dimensions for that card? Where'd you get that?

Get a Fractal design Define 7 you will not be sorry it's the last case you're going to buy

That does not fit my purpose.
The one that does comes close , is the fractal design torrent. It is expensive and already comes with a lot of fans. I want to use the fans I have to save cash.
As I am not in dire need of a new case now, are looking for something cheaper. - the whole purpose of my post.
Fractal makes small cases. Too small for big GPUs. Coolers and good airflow

Fractal Design Meshify 2 or Phanteks ECLIPSE G500A DRGB

Little phanteks available after a quick look, that is locally . No idea why.
The meshify 2 lacks a GPU support. - or so it seems.

I will slowly save up pennies for a fractal design torrent, or find something.

You can buy a stand or an anti sag bracket

The meshify 2 + an add on bracket will be about the same as the fractal design torrent.
The G500A has various models, but all with glass panel, so not going for that.

I think I will just save up for/ look for sales of the fractal design torrent.

Just from a retailer - ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB
The point is I want lots of room for big GPUs with support - with more room to spare.
Well, there is no budget mentioned. One can search this on the web, though it may not be as narrowed down the first time you try to find out.

Anything in here worth considering? Some are actually around the same price as my Meshify C which was a bargain-basement choice I had to make during the pandemic a few yrs. ago. :steamsad: You have to scroll a bit past each one to get the prices (hopefully they're still the same) and pros and cons.

There are others too. I love Lian Li and there's a model in that list but they say it's not for inexperienced builders.

Mostly pretty looking cases. I have no interest in RGB/glass panel cases.
When looking, chose the options:
ATX, Solid(No window), Black, No PSU, No lighting.
I typically search using this retailer: https://www.scorptec.com.au/
I want GPU support and room for very big GPUs, both now and the future.

The only only that fits my criteria is this: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/cases/atx/91806-fd-c-tor1a-05

I want something the same, but not paying for fans, that I have already and can put into the machine.
NZXT Flow

NZXT Flow

It has a window - or cannot seem to locate one without.
Also where is the GPU support?
Also it seems to have RGB fans - hell no!
