Looking for an (in) expensive & decent case.

Hi there.

So for context my present case is the corsair carbide 400R.
There is nothing wrong with it. It has 2 x 120 ml and and 6 x 140 ml fans.
Airflow is good.
I seems graphics cards are becoming huge in size and weight.
Presenet GPU ASUS RTX 3080 OC. I will be looking to upgrade as some point.
A quick look at the RTX 4080 SUPER - 348.2 x 150 x 72.6.
I am not necessarily buying that card though.


What I want:
A case that can hold the large GPU + then some for future upgrades.
Lots of space for extra fans - which I have already. Ideally no fans with it to save money.
I am not interested in something pretty with RGB or glass panel.
Easy to remove & clean dust filters.
No 3.5 inch drives needed, maybe a couple of 2.5 sata SSDs
A GPU support for the big & heavy cards.


Most importantly inexpensive. I am not keen to not spend on something I do not need.

Any suitable suggestions appreciated.

Glass is not a health hazard in a PC case. You should probably go do a LOT of personal research since you don't know ♥♥♥♥ about computer cases.

I've been using cases with side windows since 2012 and I've never had an issue.

For me solid top would be showstopper issue. Locks you out of any sensible AIO config for good.

I have no interest in an AIO, at least for that machine. It is a gaming/general use machine.

Due to the airflow, I doubt the PSU heat situation will be an issue. Those big/numerous fans I will crank up. It will be in a different room that the one I play games in anyway.
A 15m USB 3 & display port cables allows me to do that.

My main criteria is room and support for very large graphics cards.

agree really poor designed case sucks dust up from floor (dust settles) front fans blow directly across bottom fans no top air escape (heat rises) and only 1 build option.i think this was more of a lets make somethong different case and threw out common sense.if you dont use the bottom fans im pretty sure it will cool better and not suck up a ton of dust.it will make it more flow thru rather than a swirling air trap.normally PSU fans dont run very often i have a feeling that one will.

If you have a refurbished shop nearby check with them they may have something that's decent and cheap.

If not you can easily add some for like $1-2

You only need about a 1 inch clearance. Just avoid sitting the PC tower on any carpet. If you must do that, then make yourself a form of a sturdy stand-off for the PC to sit on. Such as with wood, you can easily make this yourself for the PC tower to sit on to raise it up well above the carpet.

Same with a GPU support pole, you can add this to any PC build where the GPU is horizontal with Motherboard slot; they sell these and many different ones, online for around $12 or less. DO NOT buy the crap that attaches to the slots, those are fairly useless.

Of course you can mod the case for height but there are cases that have an inch clearance already like mine. Also I used a half of a chopstick as a gpu support in my last build that worked just fine.

Yes one my PCs from many years ago is inside a Corsair Vengeance case. Nice clearance and even with drive bays populated and fans placements filled up, still had plenty of room for parts such as Corsair HX1000 and RTX 3080 Ti

I was thinking of getting that case at one point and having the psu at the top was the reason I didn't buy it. I ended up getting the Meshify 2 XL instead.

No thanks. Not selling that one. That will become the new case for my server.
When I put in the ebay 5 drive cheap cage, will have capacity for 11 3.5 inch drives.

The reason for an upgrade is mainly massive GPU sizes.
