Does the monitor have different port? Ideally different type (dp vs hdmi).
you can start from standard procedure: DDU to fully uninstall GPU drivers -> new gpu drivers -> fresh motherboard/chipset drivers from motherboard website -> new BIOS if available.
Can your monitor's firmware be updated?
does the monitors power light change?
MSI GeForce RTX™ 4070 GAMING X SLIM 12G
Gigabyte 32" GS32QC
Drivers are upto date. Monitor does not have a USB port to flash firmware. BTW it goes to sleep mode when i turn off the PC
Yes for couple of seconds. Then it will behave like it does get a signal from the PC.
You probably need to troubleshoot and check different things
- Check the power settings in Windows. check that the monitor is set to go to sleep.
- Check all connections between your monitor and PC. That cables are fully inserted. Change ports. Try using a different cable to rule out a cable fault.
- In display (OSD) menu and check for any settings related to sleep mode or power saving. Check if the monitor can go into sleep mode.
- Update or downgrade your graphics card drivers. Maybe there is a bug introduced in more recent drivers.
- not sure if possible but check BIOS settings and look for any power management options that could affect the monitor.
- Try connecting the monitor to a different PC to see if the issue persists. Maybe it’s a faulty monitor?
- try integrated GPU if you have one.
- Close all running apps to see if any of them is causing the issue. Some bugged background app?
You can also update firmware if one is available, information how to do that is on Gigabyte website.
Monitors with more then 1 port (which is fairly typical nowa days) should have a setting within the OSD Menu in the Display regarding "Auto Switch Output based on Detection"
Turn this off and switch your Input (HDMI vs DP) manually.
