Monitor remains black after sleep time
In power settings i set display turn off after 5 mins idle. But after 5mins monitor goes black and remains in on rather than standby.

But when shut down the pc, it goes to standby mode. Is there any settings to change? Tried everything as per my knowledge

Sounds like some drivers or windows issue.
Does the monitor have different port? Ideally different type (dp vs hdmi).

you can start from standard procedure: DDU to fully uninstall GPU drivers -> new gpu drivers -> fresh motherboard/chipset drivers from motherboard website -> new BIOS if available.

Can your monitor's firmware be updated?

Drivers are upto date. Monitor does not have a USB port to flash firmware. BTW it goes to sleep mode when i turn off the PC

No, letting it to go to sleep mode. But it does not.

Yes for couple of seconds. Then it will behave like it does get a signal from the PC.

You probably need to troubleshoot and check different things

- Check the power settings in Windows. check that the monitor is set to go to sleep.

- Check all connections between your monitor and PC. That cables are fully inserted. Change ports. Try using a different cable to rule out a cable fault.

- In display (OSD) menu and check for any settings related to sleep mode or power saving. Check if the monitor can go into sleep mode.

- Update or downgrade your graphics card drivers. Maybe there is a bug introduced in more recent drivers.

- not sure if possible but check BIOS settings and look for any power management options that could affect the monitor.

- Try connecting the monitor to a different PC to see if the issue persists. Maybe it’s a faulty monitor?

- try integrated GPU if you have one.

- Close all running apps to see if any of them is causing the issue. Some bugged background app?

FYI : Connected through Display port which is properly secured

It can be a faulty cable not sending the signal to sleep. Hopefully not a faulty port on the GPU or the monitor.

You can try using another type of data cable, like DisplayPort instead of HDMI, or vice versa. This helped me when my monitor was refusing to automatically turn off. Or just another cable of the same type, maybe by another manufacturer.

Changing cable to HDMI worked. Strange!

My monitor also has an on-screen menu in which a user can change "Signal source". You can set it specifically on DisplayPort and use DisplayPort cable. When the "Signal source" is set to "Auto" and I'm using a DisplayPort cable, the monitor does not turn off automatically. So I just set the source to "DisplayPort" so I could use a DisplayPort cable. And that works.

Most likely a monitor setting, you can set the monitor to hdmi1/2 or DP and some other settings, for more info refer to manual.

You can also update firmware if one is available, information how to do that is on Gigabyte website.

Could be a faulty DP cable, or a faulty DP port on either the Display or GPU.

Monitors with more then 1 port (which is fairly typical nowa days) should have a setting within the OSD Menu in the Display regarding "Auto Switch Output based on Detection"

Turn this off and switch your Input (HDMI vs DP) manually.
