All I can say is that I'm not a fan of the next iteration of Windows.

Windows 12 will probably be a thing, just not yet

Windows 11 24H2 might have the AI co-pilot teased for 12
It's just been added to Windows 10, even.

Officially, no, not yet.

I really dislike when media drums up such BS rumors. For one even if a Win12 is upon us, we don't know when, or the details, so what are even the point of the rumors. We know in the back of our minds that we will move to something else eventually. Until we have it available, the rumors are pointless click-bait for all those online media places; Linus I'm a sell-out TechTips being one of them. Simply because they ran out of things to drum up clicks and likes for I guess.

To me this is what it sounds like: They drummed up the rumors of a Win12, and further rumors of this WinOS being subscription-based. Why? Hmm well in the hopes that more people would switch to Win11 perhaps and also not wait to buy that new PC build.

Oh wait, now it makes more sense.
To be fair, to my understanding MS has plans for a subscription Windows version... its a cloud service which I believe is aimed at companies and is not meant as a replacement for windows. Link below.

That's fine, then. I mean, right now the future of Windows is so nebulous. Also, it's understandable that Micro wants to expand the selection of subscription services within the mainstream, like 365 etc. in upcoming versions.

If you think about it, to make the entire mainstream Windows suddenly become paid-for is a little absurd, even by Microsoft standards. The backlash would be profound. It would be like making a free street in your neighborhood suddenly become a toll road. Or maybe there's a better analogy somewhere.

Same rumors, different Windows number. Websites love to spread this drama for views, and this is probably just the quarterly recurrence of misinformation for the clicks. Don't click the link and move on, folks.

Windows 10 still has too much market share, and tbh the differences between 10 and 11 are still rather small.

I don't see them pushing 12 at this point.

12 is not even on the horizon (was just announced to stay with W11 title for another year), so who cares about BS speculation?
