OLED Steam Deck Windows Drivers
"Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Audio drivers for Windows on Steam Deck OLED are currently being worked on, and will be available soon."

-WIFI has a work around
-Audio/Bluetooth are still being worked on?

I wish to see an eta for drivers on windows.
although it is useable... audio would be nice, especially Bluetooth audio!

Hoping the Devs see this and can put it back on the list or have some input

Wouldn't expect drivers for Windows on it any time soon because their focus is going to remain on SteamOS which is a better OS for the device, as designed and intended.

What for? So you can play apex legends and COD on the deck?

Personally i already have a beastly gaming PC so as long as i can play most titles + emulation on my deck i'm happy.

Steam OS simply is way more integrated, battery friendly and in general you get better FPS then compared to native windows version.

I mean it's your deck you do what you want, but personally i'm not gonna bother putting clunky WIn11 on my deck for a handfull of games that i can run on my main rig.

I would also like audio drivers. I like to play Fortnite festival, Xbox game pass games, and games from the Epic store on Windows (yes I know about heroic, but i find the experience lacking. I have been using Linux for 25 years please don't lecture me about why I am wrong.)

I'm not sure why the first two responses are people saying the OP is wrong to want something they were explicitly promised. Personally I would not have upgraded to the OLED if that "coming soon" language had not been there when I ordered it, because I like my devices to be as flexible as possible.

L2 read please, i didn't say he was wrong, just that i don't understand installing windows on the deck when you already have a windows gaming pc.

If it's the only PC he has then sure i get installing windows on it but it kinda defeats the purpose of SteamOS integration.

If a thread isn't addressed at you and you don't have an answer and it doesn't concern you, all you have to do is not respond. If you don't want windows on your deck then this thread isn't for you. Go away.

Nova said it well, I run windows as it runs everything that I wish... I have been monitoring the drivers page since release and have been patiently waiting.

yes I have used steamos and it is great for what it is designed for. I found myself having to however set up dual boot and have windows as a backup... I would rather straight up run windows and use the device when away from my gaming setup.

I would rather keep this discussion Windows Drivers oriented and not off topic.

there are currently over 2,000 steam deck users running windows with the lack of proper audio drivers and Bluetooth functionality.

The Windows scene is huge, yes some people use the steam deck as their PC and windows for them simply does everything that they need as a pc as well as gaming. I guess it is like a gaming laptop with a controller instead of a keyboard. pretty sick (if it had audio drivers and bluetooth of course).

Yes steam os is good but it is not windows, so until all of the programs from windows will run on steamos I will be using the steam deck on windows to do it all

the current work arounds for anyone who is unaware.
Wifi - Lenovo wifi drivers do work but not fully.
Audio - AUX and HDMI both have audio out capability however the built in speakers do not, it has also been stated that using steam link on your phone to the steam deck is capable as an audio source over wifi.
Bluetooth - No workarounds currently (usb Bluetooth adapter may work untested).

I use windows on my oled deck via a dual boot, I can confirm that usb adapters work for bluetooth. I have an adapter that does both bluetooth and wifi and I've been using that in place of any drivers. it's performance is far less than the deck's wifi card, but its been good enough for playing fortnite at a decent ping. The bluetooth performance is severely lacking on my adapter however, connecting multiple ps4 controllers failed and resulted in a spotty connection

I cant wait for the official drivers, my windows experience was far more seamless on my LCD deck and I sorely miss it.

there are some drivers for a temporary fix that will allow you to use Steam Decks Wifi card. They are lenovo wifi drivers. I dont have the link.

I agree. I also had the steam deck LCD and it was fairly well equipped for windows.

It’s the OLED that lacks those drivers, as far as I’m aware the LCD already has them.

your best option is to open the Oled steam deck up, find the chip markers and search for the drivers yourself, most likely you will find the same chip hardware in several other hardware brands.

the drivers themselves exist , i would recommend trying generic audio drivers if you can pair up the Chip Id with a known working driver you should have success migrating the driver to work with the hardware.

I need windows on my deck so I can update my firmware for this hunk of plastic called a series X controller. I got steam deck oled while I was in Bali and my PC is in Singapore so classic. My new controller won’t connect to the deck, I need to connect it to a pc with Bluetooth and xbox accessories installed or an xbox console.

Was going around Internet cafes trying to just find a pc to connect to but no, pcs there have no Bluetooth, no way to install xbox accessories because Microsoft store isn’t installed on them.. some pcs here are still windows 7..

Fun times

(I have pro controller and 8bitDo controllers but anyone who has used them knows they aren’t perfect, with disconnecting during play and input lag being the major issues)
