Need desk with large keyboard tray (USA)
So my 30-year-old desk finally imploded when I was scooting it to clean. It's broke.

Looking at desks online I can't find any with a keyboard tray large enough for a full-sized keyboard and a mouse pad like the pile of wood in the dumpster had. Do they still have these?

I bought a cheap used twin pedestal wood desk, took the top off and used a sheet of 4 x 8 oak topped plywwood, (about $120), from hardware store to put a new top on with the pedestals wider apart to fit it in. 3 coats of varnish and I now have a twin pedestal desk with 3 drawers either side thats about 3' deep x 5' wide and it all fits.

People die by the score when I pick up a belt sander. I am NOT a woodworker.

You can always buy a keyboard tray and install it on your prefered desk. It usually comes with a C clamp for easy installation

Better off buy a more sturdy table; like 8 foot table from Costco / BJs
and add a slide-out tray yourself for Keyboard & Mouse.

Keyboard trays are mostly a thing of the past now, most desks don't have them so you have to find one that'll work with the desk

What I meant with my above statement was make your own.
It's really not that hard to do.

I'm finding some but it's taking some hard looking to find one with a tray big enough. Looking at this one ATM:

My PC has it's own stand, just need a large tray and some storage and somewhere to drop a monitor. Wouldn't think it would be this hard.
You can buy fake wood desks as solid wood desks either cost $800 (maybe $500) or check an app like Nextdoor as people sometimes throw them away or sell them on the cheap, especially elderly people.

But be aware that desks that you can't try or see, will be built for teenagers so the height will be lower (unless you are a shrimp). But again, these are usually fake, thin laminated, pressed wood and will not hold up well to daily usage (removed laminate, flesh abrasions, etc...).

I rather a metal stand or a custom desk myself but I have the means to build a nice looking desk or modify a bought one (I would replace the top with solid wood).

OP, be advised that Walmart and all the big box stores use thin laminated tops. For quality you will pay over $500, like that $2,400 solid oak executive desk...

Desks are old school, they use metal stands now and such (thin, cheap looking, flimsy desks).

Most people just put everything on the desk top these days and most monitors now have stands that stretch out quite a bit so there isn't that much of a market for the kinds of desks that were super common 20+ years ago anymore. A lot of desks that have tons of storage, shelves, etc. are also ludicrously expensive now too.

Some of us have standards. 😜

Even my Windows desktop only has the trashbin icon. I'm not one for clutter.
