Steam makes using playstation controllers a breeze on PC
If a game supports xbox controllers, steam will make it also support your playstation controller
(you will just see the xbox buttons on screen) You can also add non steam games
to use this function to, there is no need for "DS4 windows". Steam also allows you to
completely disable the Light bar on the top or any of the additional features if you'd like.
connection via bluetooth is exactly the same as it is on console so there's not much to say here
same with connection via cord, same as on console. once you sync your controller
you can just press the PS button to automatically connect as you would with a console.
wear and tear is atleast for a ps4 controller great, you'll get a little wear on the joy sticks
as to be expected, the buttons are still working like they always have. Haven't noticed
any of mine getting stuck or feeling more loose then others. Triggers are the same story
it's basically the same as when i bought it 4 years ago. battery life is in the range of 5-6 hours
of constant use (if you turn the light and rumble off) charges within 2 hours.
in terms of the haptic feedback and triggers
here's a list : https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Controller:DualSense
overall i would just assume the ps5 controller is going to be a slightly better built ps4 controller
with better battery life and more features. To answer the initial question, the experience is great
as long as xbox button prompts don't bug you (some games do have native ps support or mods to add it though if it really bugs you enough.)
