but is it safe to assume it is the motherboard not the cpu (as far as i know a dead cpu will not turn on even without a gpu installed)? so i can buy a new one
Did it work before?

Have you tried clearing the CMOS? Page 27 of this MSI manual says to "Short the Clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard".

https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/PROH610M-EDDR4.pdf

That may restore the functionality of the system if it stopped working at some point.

The manual links to an Intel 600 BIOS document, which says that the option to load "Optimized Defaults" is F6. Not sure how you could confirm that it works.

I don't know if the operating system will boot without a GPU, but if it does then it might get an IP address on your router.

depends on the board

look up its manual or flashing instructions

worst case, you need to find an older gpu to use to flash it
no, i cant use any gpus even a gt 610
the motherboard keep restarting i install a gpu

You need a display to see what you're doing, maybe try a PCI only GPU, if your board has PCI slots. Another option is to order a bios online with the newest firmware already flashed, some BIOS chips can actually be removed by pulling them out

Your motherboard needs Bios Flashback functionality to be able to update bios without display. You need to check if your mobo can do it.

GT/GTX 600 series are not UEFI compliant GPUs; use something newer.
I have done something like this without a screen - but it can be very dangerous / you might break it more than it is.. I just looked up youtube videos for the specific MB that had the steps, and "blindly" used the keyboard to press the keys in the order that should make it work.. it worked luckily

Modern motherboards can boot to UEFI and/or biosflashback without a CPU installed.

I'm not saying it does. I'm saying you shouldn't assume what you are assuming because that is not necessarily the case. Also, it doesn't need a "bios button" to support bios flashback. Some boards have a designated USB port which will attempt biosflash back if a USB device is present and has a .bin file in the root of the device.

You should reference your specific model manual.

Also, you should try to clear / reset the UEFI/BIOS settings by clearing CMOS as CJM suggested. Then re-try to boot into UEFI/BIOS with just the minimum devices connected to the board, including your GPU.

Which I have provided. The model's manual does not list any support for BIOS flashback, and support forums have reported that the model does not support BIOS flashback.

The model's manual refers to the UEFI BIOS manual from Intel, which references a button for BIOS Flashback.

The BIOS does report that a GT 610 should display an error message about "output not found" if the motherboard is booting.
