DDR 4 ram - CMK32GX4M2B3200C16 (old ram where one stick died) vs CMK32GX4M2E3200C16 (new ram being offered as replacement)
Is this Corsair replacement ram, even though it is different model just as good as my old ram ?

That is what Corsair is offering me for replacement.

It is a newer version of the same series. Your kit is from 2015, this one is 2019. Specsheet of both are the same.

yes, its basically identical from model number, likely just a revision change.

Perfect world you have a kit wit the same model. But as long as the RAM is capable of the same speeds and timings and is practically the same in all the bits that matter it's not a real issue. You'll still be able to run the sticks in dual channel and that's the part that counts. Anything else is OCD level fuss.

I've never had an issue mixing similar RAM like what you're going to have to do. It's a non-issue.

You're supposed to send the whole kit back and you get a whole kit in return. Now you have two different RAMs. 2015 RAM is not the same as 2019 because it was made with different manufacturing process.

Different process has different tolerance when it comes to voltage, even with the same rating. Having the same spec is not the same as having the same RAM. There's a reason why RAM is sold in kits. Sourcing a kit is easier than sourcing a dimm.

I would contact Corsair and tell them you're willing to send the other one back also, and in return Corsair sends you a 2019 kit. That way you'll have two RAMs from 2019 manufacturing.

its the same
older one was higher binned, newer one is lower binned
same effect if they are the same speed/timings
