4070 Ti Super 16gb vram enough?
Just got my 4070 super last week but can't help but feel like 16gb vram isn't enough. With games such as CS2 and War Thunder, along with R6S being upgraded graphically I am worried I won't be able to push past 60+ fps on 1080p due to vram constraints. Thoughts?

Hi,

If you don't have +60 FPS, you must have something blocking your FPS (the game's graphics settings or NVIDIA settings).

16 GB of Ram is enough, but I recommend 32 if you play games like Escape From Tarkov.

Vram not ram
Oh my fault.
it does not change anything.

I have an RTX 4070 Ti too, and on CS2 I have around 300-400 FPS (All on high).

I think your problem comes from the Nvidia settings or the game. Being stuck at 60 FPS.

Apology for poor English, my first language is Welsh. When in cs2, I check task manager and see vram section maxed out at 16/16 gb, all my gpu ram is used up and I get low fps due to it. Sometimes game crashes too.
Your VRAM shouldn't be getting completely used under normal gaming conditions, even 8GB is fine for the average gamer.

16gb used
useless VSync enabled? it locks your fps.
I can't help but feel that you're either misunderstanding something or you're leaving out some crucial information that would explain how you're using all 16GB offered by your GPU in those games. None of them use anywhere near 16GB, you basically need to run games like Cyberpunk 2077 at maxed out settings without any upscaling like DLSS to get anywhere near that level of usage. The games you're talking about run on max settings with far less VRAM usage.

If anything, you're actually mistaking RAM for VRAM as the other person suggested because running out of system RAM with only 16GB Is pretty easy.

honestly get a 1 year 4k sub too geforce now and wait for a 5900 6000 series rtx gpu..
50's series might appear in 2025, 60's series way later

Yeah and you use it because your monitor only supports up to a certain refresh rate and after that you get screen tearing. Which is far worse.

Also people warn others about buying used GPUs that have been used for mining because they let the GPU run wild. Turning off the Vsync would be the same thing.

That card should very easily be able to handle 1080p at 60+ FPS in those 3 games. I don't see how it can cap out the vRAM in those 3 games either. They are not graphical power houses after all.
Vram should not be the issue seeing how cards with less vram runs them at higher FPS values in those games.

Also 16 GB vRAM is good.

What is your CPU though? Maybe that is throttling the performance?

16GB of vram is plenty, especially for them games even at 4k, Some modern triple A games it might push it a little hard, but 16Gb is still a lot of vram, the only game I have the pushes every bit of my 24GB of vram is Call of Duty, but that game is designed to fill up the vram if its available, Im sure other games are the same so its kind of hard to tell if some game are vram limited.
