which should i upgrade to r7 5700x vs r5 7600x?
as the title says i'm looking to upgrade my cpu. currently here is my current build/setup:

cpu: r5 3600
cpu cooler: noctua nh-u12a
gpu: gigabyte oc gtx 1660 ti
ram: g.skill ripjaws series v 32gb 3600mhz dual channel
mobo: asrock b550 pro4
boot drive: western digital black sn770 250gb pcie gen4 m.2 (upgrading due to only having about 10gb left free)
game drive: crucial mx500 2tb 2.5" sata ssd
misc drive (storing mods, music, and other things here): seagate barracuda 2tb 3.5" hdd
psu: evga supernova 750gt 80+ gold fully modular
fans: 3x asus rog strix xf120 120mm (2x bottom intake, 1x external exhaust have solid pcie slot inserts), 1x thermaltake tt-1225 a1225l12s 120mm (top exhaust)
case: lian li lancool 216 (with stock fans in stock config 1x 140mm rear exhaust and 2x 160mm
front intake)
monitors: currently using an acer ed322q 31.5" 1080p 165hz (currently set to 120hz) gaming monitor as main and a samsung 43" 4k tv ( that i was using for my ps4 and i mainly watched video and surf the web of my pc) set to 60hz as secondary monitor

i want to upgrade because im going to start streaming games soon on twitch/youtube off this one pc. while i have a old thermaltake case along with a corsair cx600m 80+ bronze semi modular psu and a msi gaming r9 380 4gb gpu (which i would rather not use) still laying around and working. the only problem is i dont have space for 2 pcs. the upgrades i want to make for either is about a $300 difference (as of this post). i do also plan on upgrading the gpu soon after. considering i generally can only by cpus and gpus under $300 or up to $400 if there is a good deal ( though $300-$350 i am willing to do if possible) every 5 or more years.

going to hit that 5 yrs next year so i'm looking at upgrades now to see what my options are. if i got the 5700x i could upgrade now. but i dont know if its worth it especially if i also upgrade the gpu at the same time. not likey to get an nvidia gpu since i dont like how they've handle the launch and pricing of the rtx 40 series or an intel arc since they still have issues with older games. especially since there are some old games i stll like to play (ex: warhammer 40k dow).

now assuming i would upgrade this moment which should i do?

7600X would mean new motherboard and new RAM, making it significantly more expensive.
Ryzen 7 5700X3D is about to come out for $250, it would go with your B550 mobo (probably needs BIOS update).
Then I would look for RX 7800 XT for $500.

Get the best GPU you can afford first, if 400$ is your limit then you can get a 3070 LHR or 6800 at the upper limit of your budget

Don't really need to upgrade your CPU yet, the 3600 is fine even if temporarily, better off saving up and getting a 7800X3D than continuing to upgrade within AM4.

Update BIOS for Ryzen 5xxx series (do not update this unless installing new CPU)
Install 5800X3D CPU
Install better GPU

If you going to live-stream; then just use your current PC as-is and stream at 720p/60

Then save up towards all new build.

AM5 Motherboard
DDR5 RAM
7800X3D or better
RTX 3080 / 4070 or better
850-1000 Watt Gold/Platinum Certified Modular PSU

i prefer lower power consumption. so i bought a 65 watts cpu. a ryzen 5 pro 4650g. the 5700x has 65 watts power consumption and is fast and windows 11 compatible.

RX 6700 XT or RX 6800 non-XT.

I suggest you upgrade to 5800x3D cus you already have the AM4 platform motherboard, saves a bit on the cost and its a very well rounded CPU, 3D cache can benefit a lot in some games.

Are you going to use OBS?
OBS is relatively heavy and some people use a separate PC just for that.
I think it depends what you are going to stream and if 6 cores is enough.

3600 + 1660 Ti isn't nearly enough for Live Streaming with OBS while Gaming.

I'd start with a 5800X3D and decent cpu cooler

Then use CPU encoding since now you'll have enough raw cpu power to spare for handling the encoding.

Then save up and get a better GPU such as RTX 4070 or 7800 XT
