Custom windows 11 bypasses TPM?
My PC doesn't have TPM 2.0 or something, I think I am just going to use a custom windows 11.

None of your spiel matters. TPM 2.0 is for security and Windows 11 uses it. Without it, you'll be less secure.

That's all that matters.
Less secure lol. I haven't use antivirus since 2018, I also run windows 7 before without an av, I don't even use TPM, nothing really happens, idc. about the TPM, it is just their way to raise their standard.
Nah, there are definitely security implications of not using an AV or a TPM. Its a risk, and a system without them are absolutely more vulnerable then one with. But it also depends on what the user is doing, and risk doesnt mean something bad is guaranteed to happen, it just about probability.

Most TPM features are still opt-in, specifically BitLocker (disk encryption key management/firmware boot protection) and Windows Hello (PIN protection).

Or does Windows use TPM also to protect secrets held by local user accounts? (note MS Accounts cause the OS to generate a local account to host them)

Or use Linux.
The best choice out of this list, sadly the anticheats are pain to get them working

I always ran into this problem. It wouldn't allow me to run Witcher 3, Elden Ring, and Hell Let Loose. It got flagged, even though Linux isn't a cheat. Oddly enough, at the time, csgo wouldn't get flagged and I could play it on Vulcan with tons of fps

It's possible that the "requirement" for 8th gen Intel cpu and later (not sure of AMD;s equivalent) is tied to the Spectre/Meltdown vulnerabilities from like 5+ years back. The issue was mitigated with 8th gen Intel and later. I remember enabling those firmware mitigations with InSpectre (remember that one??) but it took a toll in performance--I had i7 6700K at the time.

So that's likely where at least some of the "security" extras in Windows 11 are arising. Secure Boot is a separate entity from TPM. The latter enables one to encrypt one's boot drive and the former helps defend against malicious drivers loading at boot-time. Just saying. :steamsunny:
