your gpu cant do 60fps on 4k. (need 4070 or 3080 for that.
+
4k only makes sense on a monitor of about 40 inch.. those excist but cost about 1800 euro.
1440p would be good for your gpu.
your gpu can do 55fps at ultra 1440p.. meaning at medoum settinfs 1440p is playable.
-cheapest good 1440p screens start at 250 euro.
LG UltraGear 27GR75Q-B
MSI G272QPF
Samsung G50A 27" (AG500PP)
Philips Evnia 27M1N5500ZA/00
ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A
Dell S2721DGF
Xiaomi Mi 2K Gaming Monitor 27"
are all good picks around 250 euro
just pick the one thats cheapest/best available near you of these.
ips
2560x1440 (1440p)
27"
100hz or more
1ms responcetime or less
Gsync & Freesync
that be what you want.
So for example I’m using a 4k tv right now. if I want better in game performance lower res to 1080p not 1440p and use dlss? Since it scales evenly, right?
These Aoc monitors seem like the best bang for buck. I’ll check out the one you have too. My gpu is best with 1080p I’m hearing. I’m just concerned about getting a new card one day, I would probably want to use a higher res. Does 1080p still look nice for games on high settings? I never used one.
I'll look into that. But ive seen 1440p monitors for $200-250 which is not too bad.
Thank you for this response and listing monitors to check out. The only reason I mentioned 4k is so I can have options in case I wanted to use my ps5 on it and then maybe lower resolution when my pc is hooked up. But it sounds like monitors dont really do that well, so i guess your kind of stuck with one resolution.
From my experience 1440p looks miles better on a 4K screen than 1080p.
If a game has DLSS I would play at 4K and adjust the DLSS. You have quality, balance and performance mode. Just check what looks and run best for you. Experiment :)
No game runs well for me lol even when I lower everything or use dlss. Always lag/stutters/frame drop, which is part of the reason im looking into a monitor in the first place.

Well my screen is a 4k tv not a gaming monitor. im just assuming its playing a part in bad performance. What else do you think it could be?
So you dont think rtx 3060 can run at 1440p?
If the stutter spikes are measured and you see no FPS gain after lowering the resolution it usually indicates a CPU or memory bottleneck.
