Upgraded from an rx 460 to a GTX 1650

It's noticeably faster but,would be the 4gb vram be a bottle neck in games like beamng drive etc? I could as well try selling the gpus I have and try to get a GTX 1660/rtx 2060

The people who run Linux on a 7950X3D and 7900 XTX definitely care Multiple variants of Arch Linux with performance optimisations can and do perform better than Windows 11.

personally unless windows dies out i would never switch from win11 to linux, too much hustle just for gaming.

Really isn't much work at all, most users just have basic technical knowledge and don't want to put in any effort into learning, which is a big reason why Microsoft still dominates the OS market. People don't care to open their eyes and look at what's in front of them.

Wine is just a compatibility layer to make programs designed for Windows easier to run on Linux, and Libre Office is just a free, open-source alternative to Microsoft Office, like a lot of open-source alternatives are, they're made to be good alternatives to popular software that people were already accustomed to and were already pretty much fine on their own.

That doesn't make Linux a copycat of Windows if anything, Microsoft copied off of Linux with Win11, and they have their own in-house distros that only employees with clearance have access to.

is it 1650 or 1650s ? you should just buy rx 580 8gb for more performance, but with fsr 3 mod yours 1650 should be fine now

a RTX 4060 does cost as much as a RTX 2060, think about it .. both around 300 EUR .. and compared to the 2060 is the 4060 about 40% better in performance even!

The crappy GTX 1660 does also cost 300. Stay away from GTX.. it is obsolete stuff which wont make you happy.. same with 20's series .. No one sells these generations anymore.

RayTracing in 20s series were BETA.. RayTracing in 30's series and especially latest 40's series are way more reliable and stable. Get the RTX 4060 in your case.

Anything below RTX 2080 should be considered as "obsolete".. especially RayTracing.

And latest news tell the upcoming 50's generations will arrive in mid 2025 .. this year all the 40's get a polish for desktop and laptop machines, as S's, Ti's and I even read "Ti Super's" as the upcoming 4070 Ti Super ..

And please for the love of the IT-God.. dont buy ANY of such used/2nd-hand GPUs which are sold cheaper. Buy "Factory New" CPU and GPU only!

Buy for example the "MSI GeForce RTX 4060 AERO ITX OC" for 325 EUR FACTORY NEW and play with epic and stable high fps on a 1080p 24" native screen. It will make you happy for at least next 3~4 years. For you even longer.. ^^

The MSI RTX 4060 AERO ITX OC also works with latest DirectX 12.2 and DLSS 3 !!
And play with the DisplayPort .. This GPU needs at least a 550W PSU though.

1650,yup it does actually really good with fsr 3 mod

If you're considering the 4060, go with the 6700XT instead. It's faster and has more VRAM.

but what does it do with raytracing? i thought amd is bad for the raytracing technique. maybe this is desired...
