My PC is freezing up during every game i play.

Hello. So recently my gaming laptop started to freeze up during any game i play.
I just finished Rise of the Tomb Raider with no freeze ups last week. Then yesterday while playing sonic racer game it froze repeatedly. I also tried it out of Batman Arkham Knight and AC Rogue. I've turned down the settings on all the games and nothing seems to fix it. Please help.

Thing to note, It will freeze up for a few seconds, then if i Alt+tab out and return it stops the freeze. It's very annoying..

how is windows power settings and battery charge level?

could also be a slow hdd

hdd is 7200 rmp
i keep the computer plugged in when im gaming, and it's set to high performance all the time

all notebook hdds are slow
will only be problematic if it has bigger issues tho

best to get a ssd for it

I found out what it was. RAM was getting hogged by Broadcast DVR background recording. now it's not freezing anymore after i turned it off.
