Anyway, whoever told OP whatever that thing about the DDR3 RAM was talking trash, nothing more.
The idiots and trolls near u are strong; cut them fromt your life.
Your system is all good here; nothing running at 1080 or 1440 should be slow or lagging for these specs.
Still have the OS on HDD though; this will lagg everything, makes the entire system slow.
Use 64bit OS and have OS installed to SSD.
They use much lower voltage. But to really be faster than DDR3 is @ around 1600 - 2400
DDR4 would have to be around 3000+ Mhz to achieve that. So you not doing yourself much of a favor by using cheap 2100-2600 when moving to a newer spec'd system that uses DDR4. And even with DDR4 running @ around 2800-3200 Mhz, you won't really notice in gaming. And usually also won't notice unless you are Overclocking CPU and such.
Overall, you are fine with what all u have right now. It just happens to require DDR3, big deal.
