you can control cpu fan speed in bios in hw monitor or fan option

Fan control is usually controlled by temps, if your temps are pretty high then that could make the fan run faster than you would like.

check the temps while gaming first, then go from there.
Also make sure that you have the CPU Fan in the correct fan header on the motherboard.

my temps are fine, only 43 C, and i put it in the right header

what kind of CPU fan is it? and how many pins does it have
if its only a 3 pin, it'll run at 100% regardless.

CPU fans typically just run at 100%, maybe it's just too loud for your taste. There are plenty of cheap quiet CPU fans out there.

Unlike what most people think...I have 3 pin case fans and had a 4 pin MB header with asus z170 pro gaming. it controlled the fans no problem, even turning the top one off

cpu fans dont typically run at 100% and as long as the 3pin is a variable rpm fan (most cpu fans are) it will be able to control in the bios

Fans via motherboard headers 3 or 4pin can be controlled within the OS via hardware-controle-software

boot to bios and set that fan header to run on voltage control instead of pwm

^ This

Often has a choice in BIOS for the fans (DC vs PWM)

Mine was controlled by default so I wouldn't know that
if its 43c at 100% that isn't fine are you sure you installed the heatsink correctly and added enough thermal compound

yup, but when i boot in its says cpu fan error hit f1 to run setup, and that does nothing but at least my pc knows the fan is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up

is the cpu fan old? it could have the wrong connections

Put the CPU Fan on CPU Header #0 or #1 ~ 3 pin or 4 pin PWM
If it is on 4pin molex you will get this error because the BIOS can't see the fan if not connected to a Mobo fan header. Also on 4pin molex u can't control the speeds in any ways without a fan controller. Connect every fan below 0.5 AMPs to your motherboard and control them. If the fans are high power requirement; connect to PSU and/or Fan Controller and control those that way. High powered fans above 0.5amps could burn out the Mobo fan headers.

If you ever use an All-In-One (AIO) Liquid Cooler; put the Pump on CPU Header #1
Radiator Fans on the others.
