yea it is rather slow but the slowest component of the two is the graphics card..

What would be a good a good pre build pc for gaming?
Fluffy Mar 8, 2016 @ 7:51pm
what is your budget??
MessyJesse Mar 8, 2016 @ 7:52pm
under $1000 maybe a little above $1000
Fluffy Mar 8, 2016 @ 7:54pm
for gaming i would choose a i5 or i7 with minimum gtx 970 in a pre-built system..
you could also go for an amd fx 8320-8370 but i wouldnt do it for gaming on anything above 1080p 60hz monitor.. i5 or i7 has higher performance than fx

what about this?
System: AMD FX-6300 3.50GHz Hexa-Core | AMD 970 Chipset | 16GB DDR3 | 1TB/8GB SSHD | Genuine Windows 8.1 64-bit
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX960 2GB

you could do light to moderate gaming on that system with a 1080p 60hz monitor.. it depends on the gaming you want to do and the amount your willing to spend for it
MessyJesse Mar 8, 2016 @ 8:01pm
well i will being playing mostly CSGO and open world type games
Fluffy Mar 8, 2016 @ 8:05pm
for those type games that build would do fine you could prolly play games like gtav, fallout 4 on med-med high (in between) with that build for an example
Edit: also i hope by going to the fx-6300 build you would be trying to save some money because if its around $1000 its overpriced

Checking benchmarks is a must, otherwise you could buy a dud.

For gaming, intel chips are better because they have higher single thread performance. Nearly all the gaming "best builds" in magazines and tech websites have an intel cpu, usually an i5-6xxx.

For example:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-pc-builds,4390.html

Example passmark single thread benchmarks:

i5-6500 1942
fx-4300 1410

And with an i5-6xxx there is an upgrade path as the mobo will support faster cpu's should one day you want an upgrade.

Similarly, look at gpu benchmarks.
