970 vs 980 ti
How much actual difference is there between these 2 at most demanding games

i will say this if you are planning on upgrading from a gtx 970 to a gtx 980 ti don't nvidia's next gen gpus are coming out very soon

GTX 970 is just "ok" for 1080p gaming.
980 Ti is fine for alot of games even at 4K
980 Ti however will be overkill for 1080p

So if sticking to 1080p; just get a 970

If going towards playing some @ 4K or u getting a nice new 144Hz Display; get a 980 Ti

But what's your CPU? Any AMD will bottleneck them; You need at least a mid-range i5; like 4460 or 4690K

My display last I checked is 144 Hz but 1080p I have i5 skylake

GTX 970 = great for 1080p @ 60 Hz gaming
GTX 980 = great for 1080p @ 144 Hz or 1440p @ 60 Hz gaming
GTX 980 Ti = great for 1440p / 144 Hz gaming

An OC'ed 970 can perform virtually the same as any lower 980 near it's stock speeds;
pointless to pay an extra $100-120 for a 980 over a 970

I would make up your mind and choose 970 or 980 Ti
980 Ti will be better for down the road too if u must buy now rather than wait for Pascal

Wrong. NVMe is not required; just an added benefit. It's still PCIE 3.xx

IOk. Assuming I'll be able to run it. Will it be released to places like bestbuy and newegg for consumers right away? Any idea on price?
