Good news, your CPU should be fine.
Double check the wires. You might have bumped a wire loose or something. Definitely check the front USB connector.
did you install the correct usb and chipset drivrs?
thas a poor mobo for fx cpus or overclocking
http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database
it will throttle before starting on fire, so overclocking will result is lower performance
anyhoo, drivers here, get them all
https://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/support/970A-G46.html#down-driver&Win10%2064
Ill download these drivers now!
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here
http://valid.x86.fr/izhhqz
but go to bios and look for a core voltage setting and see if you can lower it to 1.2v
its at 1.3+v now
many msi boards default to 1.3-1.4v but the cpus are fine with 1.1-1.2v at stock speeds
if its throttling due to vrm overheating, thats causeing the crash, yes
but the correct drivers would also fix it, so windows knows how to handle the throttling
Lets hope i will test it out and see if it will crash and tell you
between that and drivers it should be it
unless its a hardware or other software causing the crash
a different cpu cooler could take airflow away from the vrm area, lowering the core voltage will let them run cooler
Do you recommend me upgrading my other drivers as well?
Like my video card drivers?
